Example on WSJ.com doesn't work for unautheticated users

To access the example you have to be logged in and/or a WSJ subscriber. I guess this draws more people away from this project than becoming a WSJ subscriber.

Pinpoint unnecessarily depends on jQuery

The README doesn't mention it, but there are a couple of references to the $ function in the code:

• In the Pinpoint constructor.
• Throughout Pinpoint, DOM manipulation happens via this.$el.
• Resizing is handled via $(window).smartresize.

I'd be a lot more willing to use Pinpoint if it didn't require jQuery, because my project doesn't use use it. Aside from smartresize (which isn't required anyway), there isn't any real need for jQuery, especially since Leaflet includes its own DOM utilities.
