Build Status License

This repository houses tooling components required for WSO2 Micro Integrator. Each of these components interact with the Management API of the WSO2 Micro Integrator to provide the information related to a specified server instance.

product-mi-components

The two main tooling artifacts included here are as follows:

  1. Command Line Interface for WSO2 Micro Integrator.
  2. Monitoring Dashboard for WSO2 Micro Integrator.
  • Please refer the README.md files relevant to each module for more information on each of the modules.

Change redirections in add users and log configs pages

Description:

When we add a user in the add users page, if an error occurred when adding the user, the UI is redirected to the users page. But the user would have to edit the form to fix the error. Therefore, it's better not to redirect to the users' page after an error.
The same issue is there in the log config adding page also.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Go to add user page
  • Enter two mismatching password
  • Click add

Log Files view is not working properly

Description:
The Log Files View Component is routing to a wrong url.

When the length of the artifact list is high, the server fails while inserting the artifact information into the database.

Description:
When there are more than 5000 characters trying to get inserted to the "CARBON_APPS" table's "DETAILS" column the server fails while inserting capp details in DB. Please see the related sql script for "CARBON_APPS" table creation below.

Move Hikari DB creation logic to Bootstrap

Description:

Move the Hikari database pooling creation logic in Bootstrap class. Use JNDI InitialContext based approach to get the Datasource object from the Dashboard Core component.

User list view gives an error when secondary user stores are configured

Description:
With the newly introduced secondary user store functionality, management dashboard is giving an error in the user list view.
This issue does not occur when only the primary user store is configured.

Open File count getting increased

Description:
The open file count getting increased when the MI 4.0.0 and dashboard 4.0.1 started in the same VM

Steps to reproduce:
Add the below config to deployment.toml ( mi 4.0.0)

Start the MI server first & dashboard later in the same VM.

The below command will give the open file count and with time you will observe that the count getting increased.

lsof | wc -l

With further investigations, identified that /tmp location continuously adding some jar files ( seems like refreshing).

/tmp/jetty-0_0_0_0-9463-org_wso2_ei_dashboard_core_war-_dashboard-any-1134841296061031068/webapp/WEB-INF/lib/jsr305-3.0.2.jar

If use the below command you will observe the counts are getting increase.

High CPU usage MI Dashboard

Description:
When we Start the MI dashboard 4.0.1 (Update level 10 ) we could see High CPU usage (No CAR files deployed, just fresh connection)
We can also see the below error stack in the console (this error is not there in the wso2carbon log file of MI dashboard).

When we change the heartbeat_interval from 5 to 20 000 in the deployment.toml file in the directory [MI_HOME]/conf, We did not see the High cpu usage and the error but after the 20 000 interval we could see the error and rising of the CPU usage.

Limit the Size of the Request Body

Description:

Accepting request bodies with unnecessarily large sizes could help attackers to use less connections to achieve Layer 7 DDoS of the webserver. Therefore, we need to limit the size of the request body to each form's requirements. For example, a search form with a 256-char search field should not accept more than 1KB value.

As a suggestion, we can set "org.eclipse.jetty.server.Request.maxFormContentSize" property in the jetty server to limit the size of the request body. For more info: https://wiki.eclipse.org/Jetty/Howto/Configure_Form_Size
