Instability

I'm getting crashes after some time (a few hours after bootup).
I don't even need to use my controller in order to make it crash, just leave it for a while.
If I'm using XBMC, I get a message saying something to the effect of "Lost connection to event client".

This is under Debian Wheezy. Under a previous Ubuntu installation, it was worse - it was crashing the entire system (I believe it was the same bug).

I'd like to help fixing this, or at least submit a better bug report, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to debug the thing, so my two questions:

  1. Is there a way to enable output, and where does it go to?
  2. Is there a better way to restart the event client than rebooting the computer?

Just an small update

Hi, first of all, thank you!! i pass years traied to configure this remote whitout success, i discover this solution in a forum and, BANG! everything woks perfect now!! Just and small update on intalation instructions at least on ubuntu 22 derivates.
the first update need the option default to activate:
update-rc.d kodi_hama_mce default
After this you also need to enable daemon
sudo systemctl enable kodi_hama_mce

Then reboot and ¡Magic!
(i found the daemon service inactive, whitout daemon started, remote works but with typical problems) Thank again!

Home Button

first of all let me tell you my gratitude for making this unholy piece of crap (aka hama mce) FINALLY usable! big THX!!

one thing, though: is it on purpose that XBMC.ActivateWindow(Home) has been mapped to the start button, while the upper left button (the one with the 'e') is unassigned? i was just wondering, since it has been the other way around by default, which in my opinion was a lot easier to reach.

so in case its not an hardware related issue, can you tell me how to remap XBMC.ActivateWindow(Home) to the 'e'-button?
