measure and compare throughputs for SW and RW for log-structure file systems

The traditional knowledge about log-structure file systems is that it can handle random workloads quite well (because no matter it is sequential or random, they are always appended to the end of the log). So, investigate how the block size will affect the throughputs for RW and SW workloads. Note that log-structure file system is different from file systems with journalling.

investigate stability of xfs?

how xfs behaves? is it because of xfs or ceph's implementation that results in great changes in measured ceph SW throughputs?
