Project Description

"Doxie Destinations" is a proof-of-concept AI-powered travel assistant, simplifying vacation planning. Input your preferences, budget, and destination, and let our algorithm curate a personalized itinerary. Discover new destinations, receive tailored recommendations, and enjoy a hassle-free planning experience. With "Doxie Destinations," your dream getaway is within reach.

Technologies Used

• Frontend: React, JavaScript, CSS, HTML
• Backend: Netlify
• AI Models: OpenAI (GPT-3.5-turbo)

Installation Instructions

Local - vite (main branch)

1. Clone the repository
2. Install dependencies
3. Set up VITE_OPENAI_API_KEY and VITE_OPENWEATHER_API_KEY in .env file located at the root of project directory
4. Launch using 'npm run dev'

Using netlify (deploy branch)

1. Clone the repository
2. Connect the repository to Netlify.
3. Make sure to set up environment variables (OPENAI_API_KEY && OPENWEATHER_API_KEY) in netlify environmental variables settings.

Future Improvements

1. List of activities
2. Fetch flight & hotel bookings from external API (right now it's made up by openai)
