budgie-caffeine-applet's Issues

Single-click activation

Hi!

It would be more convenient if the applet could somehow be activated with a single click, without having to locate & click the button in the popup. Could one of the mouse buttons be assigned to this end?

Add temporary timer mode

having a timer for caffeine to stay active for custom times.
Use case would be someone watching a movie, they would open caffeine-applet set the timer to a custom duration and after the timer caffeine will disable itself.

On Shutdown settings are saved

When I restart my computer and if caffeine was on it will change my defaults to that of caffeine on(Prevent suspend).
Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Not working with latest Budgie

Hi there! βœ‹

Thanks for your handy applet. πŸ†’

I can't figure out the way to use your applet on up-to-date Solus system. πŸ˜•
Can not find an entry for it in "Applets" list in settings.

Can you update an applet to fix this, please❓

The applet installs in the wrong directory on Ubuntu Budgie

On Ubuntu Budgie, applets need to be installed in /usr/lib/budgie-desktop/plugins. The applet is installed in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/budgie-desktop/plugins/budgie-caffeine-applet, which makes Budgie Panel mis it.

Manually moving it makes the applet show up in the available applets list.

Caffeine applet assumes backlight, crashes if not

Trying to run it on Ubuntu Budgie 17.10, the following error occurs:

Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/budgie-desktop/plugins/budgie-caffeine-applet/budgie-caffeine-applet.py", line 215, in _on_caffeine_on self.defaults.get("screen-brightness")) File "/usr/lib/budgie-desktop/plugins/budgie-caffeine-applet/budgie-caffeine-applet.py", line 167, in change_screen_brightness 'Brightness', value) File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/dbus/proxies.py", line 145, in __call__ **keywords) File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/dbus/connection.py", line 651, in call_blocking message, timeout) dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.gtk.GDBus.UnmappedGError.Quark._gsd_5fpower_5fmanager_5ferror.Code0: gsd-backlight-helper failed: Could not get or set the value of the backlight: No backlight devices present

Dependency issues on installing on Ubuntu Budgie

Installing the applet on Ubuntu Bidgie 17.10, in the meson.build file, the following lines cause dependency issues. The lines seem to be irrelevant. Removing them makes the applet install:

dependency('budgie-1.0', version: '>=2')
dependency('gobject-introspection-1.0', version: '>=1.51.1')
