Zenodo, a CERN service, is an open dependable home for the long-tail of science, enabling researchers to share and preserve any research outputs in any size, any format and from any science.

Powered by Invenio

Zenodo is a small layer on top of Invenio, a free software suite enabling you to run your own digital library or document repository on the web.

Zenodo (R)

zenodo's Issues

ui: record's keywords wrapping

There is a problem with displaying keywords for a few records:

Bad example:
snapshot1
Good example:
snapshot2

I believe that this problem occurs when user put all the keywords in one filed, separated by comma (instead of using Add another keyword option).

Versioning support

  • Versioned DOIs (one global DOI pointing to all releases, and one DOI per version).
  • Deposit UI and REST API support.
  • Move to new documents module.
  • Move storage backend.

installation: double requirements given in base/dev.requirements.txt

Invoking this (zenodo/invenio:pu-zenodo | zenodo/zenodo:master):
pip install -r requirements.txt --exists-action i

Produce this:
Double requirement given: ipython==2.3.0 (from -r dev.requirements.txt (line 26)) (already in ipython==2.3.0 (from -r base.requirements.txt (line 97)), name='ipython') Storing debug log for failure in /home/adrian/.pip/pip.log
and
Double requirement given: ipdb==0.8 (from -r dev.requirements.txt (line 26)) (already in ipdb==0.8 (from -r base.requirements.txt (line 96)), name='ipdb') Storing debug log for failure in /home/adrian/.pip/pip.log

Shall we remove the ipdb and iptyhon requirements from base.requirements.txt?

communities: subcommunities

  • End-user browsing of subcommunities
    • Logos per subcommunity?
    • Clearly visible collection hierarchy when browsing a community.
  • Management of subcommunities tree.
  • Integration with teams and permissions.

Related to branding of communities in #104

deposit: fix WTForms 2.0 deprecation warnings

../local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/wtforms/ext/sqlalchemy/__init__.py:7: DeprecationWarning: wtforms.ext.sqlalchemy is deprecated, and will be removed in WTForms 3.0. Instead transition to the excellent WTForms-Alchemy package: https://github.com/kvesteri/wtforms-alchemy
  DeprecationWarning

.../local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/wtforms/fields/simple.py:23: DeprecationWarning: The TextField alias for StringField has been deprecated and will be removed in WTForms 3.0
  DeprecationWarning

http://dx.doi.org/ renders too soon

When a release has been made without sufficient metadata, the DOI shouldn't be created.

Despite, a URL is presented on the Zenodo's GitHub page pointing to a non-existent entry on dx.doi.org.

restapi: documentation update

  • Better oauth documentation.
  • Advertise sandbox environment.
  • Automatic cleaning of sandbox environment.
  • Records REST API documentation.
