Use a more complex scoring metric

Walking from Glasgow to London is (to a first approximation) low carbon, but would probably take a long time. Buying a single train ticket may be more expensive than driving, but getting a season ticket may be much cheaper than driving every week day for a year.

Use some metric (visible to (and tweakable by?) the user) to rank the transport options.

Style changes break functionality

The form layout currently in master does not work with the API (query or display?) logic, so submitting an origin and destination does not update the map or distance/footprint fields. Correct the logic before pushing live to gh-pages.

Suggest better routes

If the user says "I drive from A to B", the app should respond that walking ten minutes and taking a bus is greener/cheaper/faster, if indeed it is by some measure of betterness. Otherwise, visualise emissions (#3) to encourage the user to think twice about the trip.

Let the user specify their car's emissions

CO2 emissions vary between cars, and we're using a ballpark average figure. One way to do this is to match the user's road tax bracket to an emissions figure.

Visualize carbon emissions

"Grams of carbon dioxide" as a quantity does not carry much meaning without comparison. Bar charts or some metric like how long the extra carbon will remain in the atmosphere are more comprehensible.
