Zom iOS - Opening Zom from TestFlight

While I click on 'Open' button from TestFlight, there is some issue with the interface. It takes me to a blank page with lines (screenshot doesn't capture that, so couldn't share one) for about 10 seconds and then takes me to Zom.

Is that something to do with TestFlight?

I have also noticed the same while opening Zom from the dashboard after it crashed.

Reinstalled ZOM, the 'Create New Account' page looks great.

Not receiving messages queued on server when I come back online

If phone is off, then should messages be sent once phone is turned back on? If so, it did not work with Tenchoe and I.

Sending video

From Take Photo or Video option, when I take video and send (to Android) It shows, the video processing and then received this message 'OTR Error: You sent me an unreadable encrypted message', from the receiving device.

In Android, I get this message [resent].

Sending Image between Zom on Android and iOS

Sending image from iOS to Android: It took less time reaching to 100% but took about 30+ seconds for image to appear in the Android. In iOS, the status still shows 'Sending' even after the image is received.

Sending image from Android to iOS: It took more than 2 minutes loading the image on iOS device although in Android, Zom is showing 2 tick marks on that photo.

Zom on iOS feedback - QR Code

I upgraded Zom to the latest version without uninstalling the previous version and the 'Add Buddy' option didn't have QR or Share option.
Showed my QR Code from the share option after choosing 'Share' option from my account in the Settings.
Used Zom on Android to Scan, got a notification in Android that the contact is added, but doesn't appear in both Zom on iOS and Android.
Reinstalled Zom and in the onboarding process, Zom crashed when I selected Scan QR option. reinstalled Zom twice after this but kept crashing.

Add OTR fingerprint to invite link

Needs refactor to generate keys on account creation.

Issue with QR Code Scanning between Zom & Android & iOS

Scanned My QR on Zom iOS from Android device. This didn't add contact although the contact added confirmation appeared.

Scanning QR code on Android device from Zom on iOS worked.

Deleting Contact

There should be an option to delete contacts. Currently, when I click on a contact, it shows the tick mark that either can be used for Group Chat or start Private Message.

Right now, when I swipe a chat to the left, it gives me option to delete the chat. Can we have similar option for deleting a contact in the buddy list?

autostart OTR session when you open chat for matching resources

if the resource is "ChatSecure" or "Zom" or "ChatSecureZom" it should automatically try to start an encrypted chat session

QR code scan should automatically send/submit with notify

After a QR code is scanned, it would be helpful if there was a message letting me know that it is waiting approval. After you scan it you are left wondering if it worked.

Encryption

Conversation weren't encrypted at start between Zom on Android and iOS but was able to chat. Once I clicked on the lock on Zom in iTouch to verify, the msgs stopped going through.

Easy message resend

If a message did not go through, can there be an option to resend without having to retype?

Change password confusion

When you change your passphrase, it says “The database passphrae change was successful” it would be less confusing if it said Your [email protected] passphrase change was successful. Is it for a specific account or general data restoration?

Voice messages still not working?

When trying to send voice message from iPod Touch with iOS 9.1 you get an error message and on my end (iPhone receiving) got 3 messages of long gobbly-gook.

Starting chat with just one person is confusing

This is related to the group chat vs single chat mode of operation.

"When I add a buddy and they are in my list and I tap on them to compose a message nothing happens. I finally realized you have to tap again on the check mark on the top right. It would be better if you could just tap on the person's name to compose a message"

User ID in contact list

User's ID should only appear in Me page, not in contact/friend page

invite / add form cut off on iPod and iPhone

iPod Touch can only see part of form to directly add buddy and iPhone can’t see any part of the form to directly add a buddy (screenshot IMG_7143.jpg).

need to handle invite links on iOS 8

When I sent a share link via SMS and via email to someone using an iPod touch it just went to the download page and that is it. iPod Touch user tried sending share link via SMS and via email to me and same thing, it doesn't work. Neither of us received notices. It would also be helpful to receive a notice once your buddy as approved the invitation.

Remove lock button from the chat view

The lock with (!) on the top right of Chat

The lock with the exclamation mark seem to draw people there. Two new user I tested with clicked on the lock ;) just like i did the first time out of curiosity and the voice messages stopped working (I started not getting anything and they started getting encrypted codes instead. The lock doesn't respond after that.

Since Zom conversations are encrypted by default, can we remove that lock and place the contact's information there instead?

icons/avatars bug

On iOS 9.1 sometimes when you go to compose the list of buddies is just avatars and no account info and sometimes it will show avatars and account info. And if it does show sometimes when you tap on a buddy all the account details disappear and it’s just avatars.

Logging back in... password?

When logging out of account, how do you know what your password is to then log back in?

Unsure how to start a group chat

Group chat is working, because I could invite someone into one, but it was unclear from the iOS UI how to start one.

Adding Buddy

I sent an invite to Zom on Android version 5.0 device using email share.
My id on Zom iOS (version 9.1) shows up in Android as offline, my Zom ID on Android doesn't appear in Zom on iOS.

Tried sending a message from Android, but didn't go through.

Crash during recording or sending audio data messages

Stickers are resized / made into JPEGs?

When I send a sticker from iOS to Android, it shows up on Android very small and with a white solid background. My hunch is that the sticker is being resized and turned into a JPEG when it is sent. This code is likely done for photo sharing.

Zom iOS - Account Passphrase/Password

I couldn't figure out how to get my passphrase/password for the account while uninstalling Zom.
When I select the account from the Settings, it only gives 'Share' and 'Logout' and 'Cancel' option.

User ID in contact list

Showing My ID in the Buddy list is confusing. Can we not show it there?

Submitted separate bug for QR Code

Sent invite through email to Zom on Android. Zom on Android showed notification ['Create new Account?' Create a new chat account for username 'null'?] After I click on OK, Zom crashed. I'm not sure if it's an iOS & Android compatibility issue but thought I'll let you know. I'll submit this to Nathan as well.
I sent a Zom invite through email from Android, when clicking on the link, it took me to the Download page even when I have Zom already running.

Also, the email invite only shows the link in Content with no message and no subject.

Mailbox icon / notiifications

Maybe mailbox should always be there and if there is a new notification a 1 to indicate 1 new notifications and 2 to indicate 2 new notifications and so on.

Zom Account in iOS appears offline.

I was testing between Android and iOS and was able to send photos and msgs back and forth. But I took break for about an hour and my Zom accounts on iOS appears offline in my Zom Android friend list. In Zom iOS 'Settings' I see that my accounts are Connected.
