project-ar2's Issues

Can't Customize Theme

When I click on Customize in Theme's I see the left sidebar with all the available options but when I click on them nothing opens. It's just white in the center. It does work on a fresh wordpress install but then it breaks for no reason everytime. Then, If I try to go into options, the theme never saves my settings as well as the Import Code I saved. If I do save changes it screws up the whole site because the categories for the featured posts don't save and every single post is in every category

I have backups of my entire site before it got screwed up, what file are the settings stored in so I can at least restore the correct layout in the meantime?

ThemeIssue

All categories still showing on home page even when one is selected

On the News Posts section of the home page I have added one category into the Terms field and set the number of posts to 10. I only have one post available in that category, but instead of just showing that one post I am seeing 10 posts from all categories, as if the Term restriction isn't working.

Custom menus are not displayed vertically in the Sidebar widget.

If you add a 'custom menu' with several items and a few nested levels to the Sidebar widget, the items are displayed Horizontally (over a few different lines) rather than Vertically, so the menu becomes quite a mess as subitems overlap high level items which are displayed on the lines below and their value is not really readable (as they seem to be displayed with a transparent background).

Add a "random" sorting option for home page

Under the "Home" tab in Theme Options, it would be extremely useful to have an additional option under each section (after "post count") where the user was given a "sort" option (date or random).

A lot of us (as seen in the forums) use some of these sections to pull up older (random) posts to highlight on the home page. This seems like a logical and easy way to let the user have control over it.

Padding Needed For Comments When Using Disqus 2012

Using the latest version of Disqus for comments the comment area has no padding on the left side, causing it to meet right up to the sidebar. They suggest the following:

"Disqus 2012 is set to fill 100% of its parent HTML element and has no margin or padding set on its

. This means Disqus 2012 often looks best when its parent container gives it some margin or padding."

Adding this to the css fixes the issue

disqus_thread {

padding: 0 1em 0 1em;

}

HTML code displayed on single posts when enabling the social buttons

Options/Layout: Facebook, Twitter, Google+ Buttons (English Only)

The following code is displayed on the single posts, just on top of the buttons themselves:

"div.img { height:auto; width: 25%; float: left; text-align: center; } div.img img { display: inline; margin: 2px; height:auto; width: auto; border: 1px solid #ffffff; } div.img a:hover img {border: 1px solid #0000ff;} div.desc { text-align: center; font-weight: normal; width: auto; margin: 2px; padding-bottom:1cm; } this is the content of the post itself No Related Posts This work, unless otherwise expressly stated, is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.">"

My website is working on Wordpress 3.5.1 Version .

Thank's for your help and for this great theme.

WP-PageNavi compatibility

There is an issue with Page Navigation, the theme is showing more pages than are available on the site.

Example:
Theme shows: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
whereas I only have enough post for: 1 2 3 4

Clicking on the extra numbers results in an error message: "Error 404 - Not Found"

IE 9 Compatibility Mode Forced

When visiting the demo in IE 9, the page is forced to refresh and IE 9 goes into compatibility view mode. I have been trying to find the root cause, but no luck so far pinpointing what is causing it. I believe it is likely related to the slideshow because it only happens on the front page, and not any of the single posts, etc.

EDIT : This only happens on my home computer. My work computer, with the same IE version, does not exhibit this behavior. Unless someone else can reproduce this, I am guessing that this is related to something on my home computer that I will have to investigate further.

Related posts thumbnails don't load the linked post properly

I'm using the 'KC Related Posts by Category' plugin which works fine with the Arras Theme and just noticed that if users click on the text links, then related posts are loaded correctly, but if they click on the thumbnail itself then the related post is loaded inside an overlapping white screen like in this attachment rather than in the page itself:

http://imageshack.us/a/img839/5550/projectar2relatedpostsi.png

The code that's used for those thumbnails is:

<div class="img">
     <a href="http://.../" class="cboxElement">
        <img src="http://.../wp-content/plugins/kc-related-posts-by-category/timthumb.php?src=http://....jpg&amp;w=110&amp;h=120&amp;zc=1" alt="...">
    </a>
  <div class="desc">
     <a href="http://.../">Related Post</a>
  </div>
</div>

Custom Taxonomy archive page show zero posts!

Hi Zy!
Thanks for the great Theme, really we appreciate your work!

-The problem : I created a custom taxonomy , every thing works fine, except when i visit the term archive page shows only the term name, but no posts?

Thanks and best regards!

Customize Preview breaks in Internet Explorer

jQuery does not load properly when previewing theme via the Theme Customizer. This affects all Internet Explorer versions (including IE9). Reloading the preview seems to be a temporary workaround for IE users for now.

Images without caption are buggy

If I insert a image without a capion it will look fine in the editor, but at the website it uses the whole width. After I enter a caption the image is correctly resized and aligned.

Child-Theme and functions

I use AR2 with a child theme for my personal modifications. Normaly a theme have one functions.php to handle all functions, but AR2 use an additional folder with additional files to add more functions.

Unfortunately, all my additional modified function files are ignored by WordPress. Or am I doing it wrong? ^^

Display slideshow

hy, whatever i do, my slideshow in homme page doesn't work...display ...nothing, even with select slideshow enable ....help. my wordpress version is 3.4.2 on www.lupuviorel.com

Full Width page issue

Full Width page doesn't support full width content. There is inherited value of cantainer for 68.75% width.

Facebook thumbnails not pulling featured image when one is set

When a featured image is set in a post, FB should pull that image by default as the thumbnail when the post is shared. Currently it is not.

to fix, please add this code to header.php, above

post->ID; if( has_post_thumbnail( $thePostID )){ $thumb_id = get_post_thumbnail_id( $thePostID ); $image = wp_get_attachment_image_src( $thumb_id ); echo ''; } ?>

Menu Drop Down Transparent

The menu drop down are displaying as transparent, causing text or image overlap.

This only occurs if you do not set-up your menus within wordpress, creating a Main menu fixes the issue

Enhancement: Nested submenus to provide visual feedback

Enhancement: Nested submenus could have an indicator in order to let users know where they could find further nested items, ie, something like > when that item menu has children inside. And this could be done for all level, just in case there are menus with 4 or 5 nested items.

Custom post-types

Hy, i download the ar2 master yesterday, install in wp 3.5.1 with "custom content type management" plugin.

All structure of the theme is great, but i have problems with archive.php for custom types:

Seems that archive page don't call post-types. whatever the name of custom, if not have any post, a 404 page is showed. Nice.

But when any post-type have posts, the archive page only show "Blog Archives" post.

I put post-types right in function.php, try many different types plugin and not work :/

Custom types is not find by the search too.

In arras theme master the archive page works, but in Ar2 don't.

Some solution?

Banner Image Aligning with Navigation Menu

This wasn't an issue a few weeks back, but the latest code has the banner image within the navigation menu container, example http://imgur.com/uxjcj

Here is my header code

<header id="header" role="banner">
    <div id="branding" class="clearfix">
                <hgroup class="logo">
            <h1 class="blog-name"><a href="http://localhost:8888">VGR Test</a></h1>
            <h2 class="blog-description"></h2>
        </hgroup>

        <div class="banner">
        <img src="http://img.vgrevolution.com/newvgrlogo1.png">
        </div>

    </div><!-- #branding -->
</header><!-- #header -->

archives: cannot go to page 2

I'm using the archives page as my home page, as it should provide the possibility to browse multiple pages of posts. It doesn't, thought.
I don't know if it's a bug or if it's just not implemented, but in both cases, I think that should be fixed, because this theme is really nice and that would be an important feature.
Version: 2.0-beta2

auto sizes on slideshow make the home page look strange

having each slide in the slideshow be a different size (depending on the size of the photo) makes the homepage look very wonky and strange. I recommend making the slideshow a set size that forces the photos to all be the same. looks a lot better that way, in my opinion.

here is the code for the css:

.posts-slideshow .slides img {
width: 650px;
display: block;
height: 350px;
}

Bug in home page (news posts section) please help!

Hi Zy!
I'm having troubles to with this issues, i would appreciate if you could find a fix;
1- The news posts sections shows posts from the correct selected category, but on page 2 it renders posts from all blog categories.
2- In some cases some pages returns ( Page Not found ), depending on how many posts exists and the number of posts per page for archives.
Please help!
Best Regards!

Replace 'Enable %s' by 'Enable' in zone settings

There are already titles for each section in the zone settings so it is not necessary to duplicate that title in the "Enable %s" switch. Moreover this garbles the UI and it is nearly impossible to translate this to Turkish as you have to put different suffixes for each section name.

So it would be good to not translate them and replace them with a plain 'Enable' as an enhancement in library/classes/postviews-section.php.

Better settings for duplicate items

If you switch on the filter for duplicate items, this will go for the whole homepage. Where this is great in most cases, it also makes posts featured in the slideshow loose out. They are not as prominent as older posts.

It would be great if a setting for duplicate items can be applied to the slideshow separately from the others or even applying the duplicate items settings per content block on the homepage.

Problem with tables

I observed a problem with table creating with TinyMCE. Texts are not aligned correctly and border don't appear.
To explain, i created an example :

With Arras 1.5.2 (with aligncenter and border) :

arras1-table

After activate Arras 2.0, we obtain this :

arras2-table

No border and no align, and to a lesser extent, the background can not be same color.
If there is a way to resolve these issues, it would be great.

Translation issue

Not working translation for comments using post type "Per line".

in file section-line.php on 11 line need replace:
with:

This fix the issue. :)

text-transform doesn't work correctly for some languages

Current browsers other than IE can't correctly transform texts from lowercase to uppercase for some languages. This results in wrong transformations for Turkish for example.

Moreover the beauty of uppercase in titles and links can be discussed.

Is it possible to put a switch to enable/disable CSS text-transform in everywhere? I'm not quite sure about this. If not, you can ignore this issue as I think you wouldn't look warm to the idea of completely dropping uppercase text-transforms.

(I'm maintaining a separate source tree in which I disabled all of them.)
