Examples missing
Getting started using this library (that we've purchased) and it would be really helpful if the examples were populated:
researching the use of contexts currently and it would be good to have simple examples at hand.
Dapper SQL Server code example is incomplete.
The 'Dapper SQL Server' code example won't work for the newbie (https://www.learndapper.com/database-providers#dapper-sql-server). Recommend that you (at least):
- Link to an informed discussion of the
connectionString
value. - Reference the need to add
using Dapper;
in response to the error'SqlConnection' does not contain a definition for 'Query'...
- Mention where/how
Book
(invar books = connection.Query<Book>...
) comes from.
Incorrect Unbuffered QueryAsync implementation
Dapper now has the QueryUnbufferedAsync method to take care of this. The use of the QueryAsync with the unbuffered flag set to false as shown in the Buffered\Unbuffered page won't work as the SQL Mapper doesn't expose such a method, at least as of latest releases.
No documentation about exceptions
There is zero information about exception that methods can throw. User can be confused and get convinced that no method throws exception. On the other hand user can suppose that methods such as Query() and Insert() could throw exceptions (bad connection, bad credentials, ...) and do not get his information about that.
I think that exceptions should be mentioned in docs.
