I cannot install this mod to the v0.25

If a click on it, it says:
Failed to get metadata_blob from modFile.

Also I see it has no dependency of any version of the game as other mods.

random/carpathian:some areas impassable when size set to Medium or smaller

On the forum, Old Roman reported

(in A26)

I tried Carpathian 3 times at medium map size (4 vs 4) and each time it put me in a valley on a flank with no path out. The first time I built a fortress up against a cliff and I was able to free 1 soldier up top at a time by emptying a full house in that direction (So that bug is still kind of there).

They were able to build a camp but by that time my allies were all too far gone. I found it odd that I was the only civ that was locked in in all of my three attempts

I changed to a normal sized map and the problem went away.

Olimpus IV scenario: repeating Javascript errors

Repeats many times:

ERROR: JavaScript error: Script value conversion check failed: v.isNumber() (got type null)

Some skirmish and scenario maps crash the a26 engine

segfault when loading map (a map that has no problem in a25). The problem seems to be because a texture (alpine_grass_a_fancy) was removed

map preview for Alpine Mountains random map needs fixing

If anyone wants to try getting the map preview correct... I don't know how. This is what's being used now for the Alpine Mountains map preview:

Some key points:

The zip in modio has hyphens while the mod has underscores. Change hyphens to underscores

I did testing with Pali last year and iirc, we had things working at some point. But I don't recall if it ever worked with more than two people.

In effect, we have to test making sure no mod names have '-git' appended to the mod name or directory, and if it that fails, make sure the mod folder is not a symlink, @Jammyjamjamman @Sl5

Anyway, will just need to do some retesting to confirm this and maybe remember it next time.

Don't fix civs in Skirmishes

I experienced it in Italian Peninsula (6) now, but I think there are others too. I don't see why 0 AD even has the option to force civs,

Civ selection appears locked out in some cases

There was some feedback on the cm2 page of mod.io

Hm, I don't quite get it. Trying to play Skirmish with these maps locked out the civs selection. Even if I had selected which ones I want to play with/against, they defaulted back to Athenians/Carthaginians.

Edit: Oh apparently, the problem only appear if you go to the Browse Map option then hit Community Map filters and then choose the Skirmish maps from that bigger map screens. Go back to the Browse Map option and choose a map from other filter to break it out.

I haven't played around with that yet so I'm not sure if any changes can be made to this mod to prevent that kind of UI confusion...

Workflow for checking the mod

Description

• checkrefs.py is a good tool for testing the following:
  • check maps for missing actor and templates
  • verify actors files have no missing textures
  • check xml files match their (.rng) grammar file
• it would be beneficial if any kind of change to this mod would trigger the checkrefs.py script
  • best via a GitHub action workflow

Manual setup

• Currently, the user must verify the mod by first checking out 0 A.D. in the current release version.
