posterazor's Issues

Patches to v1.5.1 from Debian community

Hi!

Despite the project move forward to new version the v1.5.1 still remains in use by hundreds of Debian (and its derived distros) users.

I'm packaging PosteRazor at Debian and would like to send you the patches that community applied to fix problems detected through these years. I'm submitting them because even if they are useless at current stage of development they can be helpful to other users of 1.5.1 version. I send them 'as-is' handled in Debian by the quilt tool[1]. Feel free to reject them.

Size in percentage field gets set using wrong decimal place in some LOCALEs

On step 4, if you choose e.g. size in pages, the percentage field gets set automatically according to the locale. (using , as decimal separator with german locale).
sizekomma

When switching to percentage, that number is not recognized. I guess, the used number scanning function is not locale aware and expects a dot.
invalidpercentage

The scanning function should be locale aware or alternatively the field should be preset always using a dot as decimal separator.

There might be a related bug. If I manually try to fix this by first removing the comma, posterazor hangs for some seconds, because it read something like 305533. It should not try to interprete such large numbers without asking or giving the option to interrupt the processing.

Document how to build PosteRazor

I'd like to try out the Qt-based version of PosteRazor. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with qmake and Qt libraries, so I'd be grateful for some documentation on how to build it (maybe an INSTALL file?), ideally listing depdendencies and commands to be executed (under Debian/Ubuntu, in my case).

Lack of Linux Support

So, the sourceforge binary doesn't work on 64 bit linux; some of the dependencies seem to have been obsolete so can't even work around the fact. Tried to compile it myself (and I am just a beginner at this) and saw that there are no make files or (hardly) any documentation.

Please fix this. It'd suck if an Open Source project became obsolete for most of the open source operating systems.

Suggestions to improve usability on GNU/Linux

Hi!

I have suggestions to improve PosteRazor's usability on GNU/Linux. Feel free to reject them.

It is a good idea rename the final executable's name from PosteRazor to posterazor. The
GNU/Linux (and Unix-like) users will always search for lowercase commands to execute from command line.

There are files complying with AppStream metadata projetc[1] here[2]. You can see the install
tree here[3]. Feel free to use or to ignore it.

There is a manpage here[4], using txt2man[5] system to built it. Feel free to use or to ignore it.

Thanks again for your work. Now, you can close this issue.

Please add release tag

Hi,

could you add a version tag to commit 899d345 which seems to bump the version to 1.9.7? Release tags make it easier in distributions packaging posterazor to automatically pick up new releases that have to be packaged.
