"We got a problem Houston" on Developer G1 with Android 1.5

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch MarketEnabler, select /settings list
2. select T-Mobile, or any
3. Houston :(

I built the latest version and ran on the G1 with logcat, see attached
dump. It gets an IO exception the first time it trys to,
os.writeBytes(single + "\n")
at Line 40 in ShellInterface.

I have busybox installed. I tried executing each of the commands manually
from adb. OK until the kill command which says,

cannot kill pid 724: no such process

So it seems like there are multiple problems behind this one.

Lost the ability to see payed apps after the August 25th Rogers software update

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open MarketEnabler 3.0 beta
2. Fake T-Mobile U.S.A
3. Open Market

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to see payed apps after using MarketEnabler 3.0 after faking
T-Mobile U.S.A., but I only see free apps. I can't even see the apps that
I already have bought.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Using 3.0 beta. Using the Rogers HTC Magic ROM, build 2.17.631.2. This is
the update that was released on the 25th of August.

Please provide any additional information below.

I am also using MarketEnabler 3.0 in the HoFo ROM:

This problem started after the August 25th Rogers software update.

Uninstalled manually, but still cannot install new version.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Delete /system/sd/app/com.androidiani.MarketEnabler.apk and the
corresponding dalvik-cache file
2. Try to install Market Enabler 3.0.8

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When trying to install 3.0.8, I get the error "MarketEnabler could not be
installed on this phone"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am running an HTC Magic with Cyanogenmod 4.2.14.1. I believe I was using
MarketEnabler 3.0, but I am not certain. Was definitely lower than version
3.0.3

Please provide any additional information below.
I will attach my log file from the failed install of 3.0.8 I think my
phone is convinced that MarketEnabler is still installed, and I have no
idea how to get rid of it. I would try installing the old version again and
then re-installing, but I don't have the .apk file for the older version
and can't find it. Is there anywhere that I can download old versions of
MarketEnabler? Also, I have even tried reflashing my ROM and deleting the
cache/dalvik-cache, and it still does not solve the problem. Any ideas
would be appreciated!

Can access paid apps but not paid and protected apps

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use Market enabler
2. Try to find a paid and protected app (like Sprite Backup, My Backup Pro,
or Pure Calendar Widget)
3. Be sad because it doesn't show up

Market enabler is great, the beta interface is wonderful thanks. I am able
to download paid apps, however, it seems there are some apps that aren't
available. I think this has to do with them being copy-protected/drm'd in
some fashion.

For example, Sprite Backup, My Backup Pro, and Pure Calendar Widget are all
unavailable. Market links:
market://search?q=pname:com.spritemobile.backup
market://search?q=pname:com.rerware.android.MyBackupPro
market://search?q=pname:org.koxx.pure_calendar

I have tried all the 4 different settings in Market Enabler, including the
one for T-Mobile with the extra 0s. They all work to show me paid apps but
not these paid/protected apps.

Can this be confirmed/explained? Is there a way around this?

Thank you!

Market enabler interferes with network location

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use market enabler
2. Use network location (Google Maps, etc.)
3. Wrong/no location is displayed

Network location works by querying Google's databse with the network and
cell ID. Spoofing MCC/MNC interferes with this; apparently cell IDs are
only unique within a given network.

The solution is to only set gsm.sim.operator.* and not gsm.operator.*. This
works for me, and although I'm not 100% sure, I'd argue that it should
always work, because otherwise one wouldn't have access to paid apps when
roaming in another country.

MarketEnabler has no effect on rooted HTC Hero

I have sim free version of HTC Hero (bought form expansys) which
I rooted according to this procedure:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4257045&postcount=38

After running market enabler "succesfully" I still can not see paid apps.
After some investigation I found out that system properties were set
apropriately.

After trying the procedure done by the enabler by hand in console I
discovered that I do not have "grep" program. I serached, killed and
deleted the vending cache manually. After that I was able to see the paid apps.

Would it be possible to parse the PID in the code instead of using grep?
