GPU starts working after few minutes of game runing

FPS goes down from normal value to below 10 after the game launch. I have to wait 10-15 minutes then suddenly fps goes back up to normal value and it stays up then. I spotted low or no GPU usage during tht lag. After those 10 to 15 minutes gpu goes to maximum load.

What's the issue?

VSync and fps limiting

It would be great if you could add VSync/fps limiting options. Right now my game runs at 200 fps which eats 40% of my cpu and spins my fans way too much.

Remove checksum warning

Could you add these ? I needed to apply to gothic2.exe 4gb patch because with hd textures etc stuff game sometimes went out of memory and i had crashes about memory allocation, out of memory. But now i have obviously checksum warning that gothic2.ext is not correct.

Cannot find WorldObjects.h

GD3D11 from master don't compile, because file WorldObjects.h not found.
Please add it in repo.

Black Screen and low Fps Fire Spells

Found a few Issues, using amd r290 graphics,
version x17.5

gothic 1 : inventory items do only show up if you scroll on them, black screen when you drop armor and try to pick up again (im using artemiano texture and carnage graphics patch), videos are not fullscreen

gothic 2: extreme low fps when casting fire spells like fireball, No Text when using Beliar Statues, Some Invisible NPC's e.g. a sheep on lobarts farm, using x17.1, 17.5 give me black screens after a few seconds ingame

Game Crashes after "New Game". Intel HD 520?

Hi,
i have problems starting this awesome work!
I had installed the newest X17.4 but i had a white screen.
I changed to X17.1 Result: Intros playing in the top left corner 1/4 of the screen. Game start menu appers, tried highest and lowest settings possible. Starting new game = loading, intro, loading, crash.
Have a clean new Instalation with Steam.

My Setup is:
Win 10 Home
i7 6500U
8 Gb Ram
Intel HD 520 (Yeah i know but Lenovo 900 is so freaking awesome)

Is there any solution possible to fix that?

Game freezes when teleport

Just like in title. When using runes to teleport game just freezes itself, 0 fps, stuck etc

Happens only in Gothic 1, Gothic 2 works without any problem.

DX9?

Sorry for posting this as an issue but I couldn't find any other way. I was wondering if it's possible for a dx9 version with only the renderering improvements for increased performance? Thanks

Crash on model selection or altering Tesselation

Hello world, degenerated,

first of all, thank you for your work - I am a big fan of the gothic series since it came out, still playing it from time to time until today. Your Renderer will cause a massive investment of my private time into this game again.. so, thank you!

Now, I've got a problem: After launching the game, after pressing F1 to toggle the edit mode, as soon as I select a model, a barrel or something else, the game crashes. It doesn't crash by selecting a floor for example, just modells. Do you know why this happens?

I'd love to contribute to this project! Cheers and have a fancy weekend.

Windows 10 defender affects FPS greatly

Didn't found this issue here, but looking at rpgrussia.com forums it seems to be pretty wide spread.
Subject is Gothic II Notr (with Returning 2.0 mod, but I doubt it has any effect here).
FPS with windows 10 Defender turned on is ~10 (xardas tower), with Gothic folder in exception ~40, with realtime protection in Defender truned off ~48.

Beliar statue and corrupted Innos statue cause invisible ui.

I read about this on worldofplayers.ru and i builded my gothic 2 notr with dx 11 (latest preview build), when i checked Beliar statue at the top of Xardas tower, there is no dialog appear but apparently it can be operated blindly. Also ESC dialog also is invisible.

Gothic 1 missing d3dcompiler_47.dll

I have a problem with Gothic 1 which is missing a file called d3dcompiler_47.dll, but the one for Gothic 2 works perfectly. Of course that I try it for Gothic 1 and it mostly works, but in older versions it works perfectly with the MSI Afterburner, but I was at version 14 or something like that which doesn't have a sun rays and many other things which I really liked and that version crashes.

Random normal map on random texture

Hi.

Sometimes some ground (or may be not only ground) textures getting different normal map from other random texture. Until i restart the game.

This glitch was and year ago, when i last time tested this port (or how will be correct, it isn't injector/wrapper)

I start play with begining or game, and it glitch appear when i cross protal to Yarkendar. Before i didn't expirience exact this random-normal-glitch in current play.

There is some reininitialize hot key or something like this, or may be it can added in next update?
If it exist or will be, at least will be no need to restart game.

zRes command line parameter broken

Crashes even when setting the resolution the game would have used anyway like ths: -zRes:1920,1080 and even when outcommenting all reading/processing of this parameter in GD3D11 code (GothicAPI::OnGameStart()).

Problem is probably on Gothics end somewhere.

grid line when moving

I've tried changing resolutions but unable to move without getting white diagonal lines that flicker when ever the screen changes position

G1 Access Violation Error when loading a save

Is there any way to improve this? In G2 i can play whole day, load save, save game, etc etc and i don't have a single crash(had some cuz of out of memory but applied 4gb patch and now it's fine). In g1 i have many access violation errors when loading a saves. Or maybe it's also because of out of memory?

Intel Iris 6100

GD3D11 does not work with Intel cards, even with quite good ones.
White screen when starting the game.

Gothic 1, 2 - white screen on Intel graphic card

I have a problem with Gothic 1 maybe Gothic 2 too which is white screen but game start normally, voice and music play correctly. Only movie and graphic has problems.

My PC:
Intel I5 4460 + Intel HD 4600

Hello there, is this intentional? I've actually quite liked original white trails on weapon swing and arrow launch.

Gothic 2 - white screen with 17.4

I tried versions 15.0 and 17.1, both work fine.
In 17.4 however I get a white screen.

Specs:
Intel HD 520
Windows 10
8 GB RAM

HD5100 crash

Hello,

First off, this is a work of genius!

I tried running it on Intel HD5100 graphics but it crashes unfortunately. Game starts fine, I select the 'New Game' button and as soon as the loading finishes and I'm about to appear in Xardas tower game shuts down telling me a divide by zero was performed.

The card should support DirectX 11.1 but I understand it is still a crappy card. Any idea why it might crash? Is there a chance to fix this? I can post full error logs if needed.

Gothic 1 \ 2 won't start at all with ddraw.dll

For whatsoever reason, after playing a good 6 hours of Gothic 2 with DX11, the game won't start anymore.
At launch this error is displayed even with a fresh installation:

DX 11 won't work anymore even with Gothic 1.
I've just try to reinstall Nvidea game-ready driver and it seems to work succesfully again with DX11, until now, when this error message is displayed again at launch with ddraw.dll in Gothic\system folder.

d3dx11_43.dll was not found

I've been having an issue with trying to start Gothic 1 using the Preview release (version 17.5). Whenever I try to start the game, I get the following errors:

"The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_43.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem"

This was with the system pack and the player kit installed. After reinstalling Gothic and the system pack and the player kit, I still received the same two errors. I'd greatly appreciate any help in solving this problem.

System specs:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
CPU/Integrated graphics: AMD A9-9420 Radeon R5

Is 4K resolution supported?

Hi, can i set somehow higher resolution than 1920x1080? My native is 3840x2160, so I try set this in Gothic.ini, but looking into log, they are overwritten I guess...

Blackscreen after about thirty minutes

Was experienced by multiple players of the GRM demo, can't reproduce it myself. BlackBat told me it's likely to happen when getting up after a lost fight and taking the weapon back.

Question on performance.

Sorry for creating this in issues, It may not be.
I'm playing Gothic 2 with Returning 2.0 mod, mod is pretty taxing and non DX11 gothic gives me ~30 fps in Khorinis harbor (looking at the city), ~45 fps on usual trails out of the city, ~35fps in a really bushy areas (around xardas tower in modification).
As I understand GD3D11 suppose to actually increase performance, but what I have in khorinis is ~25fps with lags and stuttering, yet it does actually increase fps in the fields up to ~50 and ~40 in bushy areas.
Interestingly enough those are fps with anything turned off to playable bare minimum in DX11 (i've just turned off any checkmark in DX11 bigger panel).
It doesn't seems that changing anything, including setting distance of VOB/world rendering to 0 affects FPS greatly, additional ~2 fps at best.

So are this rather poor results expected (in comparison to non dx11 modded gothic)? I would rather play with no additional effects but boosted performance, if that is possible, I dont mind so much default gothic graphics.

i5 2400 3.2Ghz
Geforce GTX 970

Borderless fullscreen option

First let me say how deeply impressed I am by this project because Gothic games truly need to be brought to modern systems.

Could you please add borderless fullscreen window option? Do note that this should also not register input when the game is not focused.
