I propose swapping the position of Project and Action on the "Add Action"
screen and on the display of actions, or at least providing an option in
settings to allow users to swap them. For GTD purists, project is usually
the thing you think of first (e.g., "Get blender"), while next action
requires some additional thought: (e.g., "Read reviews on Amazon"). Thus,
when adding an item to the inbox, it is more natural to put the project
"get blender" in the first field, and then when you have some time later
you can fill in the next action. Similarly, when reviewing your list of
actions, it is more natural to see "Get Blender" as the big label, and
"Read reviews on Amazon" as a smaller entry below it. I find it strange to
see "Read reviews on Amazon" first, because I then have to figure out what
that is in reference to. You can also reverse the logic of the inbox:
clean up inbox will leave projects that do not yet have next actions.

Allow the user to define different geographic locations and what contexts
to filter in/out for that location + adjustable radius using network
(course) location. Should be able to select multiple contexts to enable at
each location.
This way you can define your work location, home location, and
automatically switch contexts.
You would still need a way to be able to get back to seeing all contexts,
or adjust your filter. So maybe this would be something that would just
apply to inbox? Not sure....

(n/a)
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It would be very useful (at least for me) if an action could support
multiple contexts, perhaps separated by a comma in the "Context" field of
the "New Action" window. E.g., I may need to call a client back about an
email problem. This action requires both the "Contact" and "Online" or "At
Computer" contexts.

Having a look at the release schedule, I can see features such as using the
calendar which I think are vital to this app (and I have removed my comment
I had left on this in another task).
Another feature that I think would be beneficial is a system to remind me,
and other people, of stuff.
For example, if I have a delegated task that I am "Waiting For", I can send
a gentle reminder to that user by selecting them from my contact list and
selecting either their email or their mobile number, especially if the task
is overdue.
With "Remind Me" as well as being able to send individual reminders, I can
also request to be sent a list at 7am every day of the tasks in my Next
Actions list.

I think bigger projects are better managed if they are split up into sub
projects. This helps
better management of projects as sometimes we later realise that some actions
are actually
projects as they will require more than one action item to complete them. Under
such
situation it would be really helpful if actions can be converted into projects,
or sub projects.
And these sub projects should shown only under the parent project.

Sorry to post here, but I found no other way to join you.
I'm Edouard Mercier, a software engineer, and I've been lastly working on an
Android to-do
application named TooDo (http://edouardmercier.fr/toodo). I just discovered

working on an Android application inspired from GTD. I've downloaded it, tested

Since I'm working on a similar application, I was just wondering if we could

I think that despite that #13 is already in the issue tracker I would be a
good idea to add a "Add action" command to the Project context menu. Then,

I think it would make sense to hide completed actions instead of completely
deleting them. It lowers the let-me-think-will-I still-need-them factor and
could be one click/tap less away.
Not to mention that it's a flag and not a action (delete completed) you
have to trigger every time you want to clear your lists.
Currently to Delete Completed actions requires 1 click and 3 taps on a G1.
That's: Menu, Settings, Delete completed, Yes, I'm sure. It's a bit lengthy.

Hi Andy,
the missing backup feature is for many (including myself) a show-stopper,
as you can see in other tickets (see comments #19).
But perhaps there is a very cheap/quick solution to solve this.
The latest version of MyBackup Pro offers now easy integration for other
apps, to backup and restore them.
Please have a look at: http://www.rerware.com/MyBackup/integration.html
It seems that the necessary lib from rerware is not open source. So I have
asked them if they could open source it, because I guess you are not so
happy to ship unknown binaries with your great application. I also told
them, it would be necessary to be compatible with the apache 2.0 license, I
will keep this ticket up2date, if I got a response.
Some words to MyBackup Pro:
- I have little experience with it, but lots of people use it, it's the
third popular priced app in the market.
- The backup format seems open, it's a sqlite3 database.
What to you think?
Thx,
Manuel

I like having the UI element as autocomplete text entry, as it's an easy way to
create new projects

Currently, Shuffle starts up at a home screen, and after switching back
from another app, shows the last screen used. I'd like these to be
configurable as follows:
At startup, choose to show one of the following:
- Home screen
- Inbox
- Due actions
- Next actions
- Projects
-- Specific Project X
- Contexts
-- Specific Context X
- Last screen used
When switching back from another app, choose a default from that same list.
"Last screen used" would probably make the most sense for me, but I can
image that others might want to drop back into a project or context every
time, for example.

When I create an action without project asigned, it remains on inbox
waiting that I assign to any project. But there are actions that doesn't
need to be assigned to a project and there is no way to move that to the
"Next Action" section.
I think is good to create actions always on inbox and then, have the
posibility to move that to the "Next Action" section, even if that doesn't
have project asigned.

Wouldn't it be great to show my Google Calendar when I'm choosing time for
my action?
Why:
1) I hate pressing little arrows that increase or decrease minutes and
hours. Sometimes I have to set time to 12:30, so I have to click at the up
arrow too much. (from 0 to 30)
2) I can't see are there any other events scheduled to the same time! I
have to check at google calendar after creating event in Shuffle.
I suppose there should be a 'Calendar view' in the framework. If not,
there should be an intent such as 'pick calendar time' that will launch
Google Calendar to pick a time for my event.
Thank you in advance.

This is an enhancement request.
It would be nice to be able to back up my Shuffle state to, and recover it
from, network storage. An example of network storage could be an email
account.
Under this proposal, Shuffle would have a backup menu command. The command
would prompt the user for an email address, as well as information on how
to connect to an IMAP server managing the corresponding email account. It
would then save the entire Shuffle state into a file, then send an email to
the specified account with the file as an attachment (using previously
configured email client) and an especially formatted subject/body.
Shuffle would also have a recovery menu command. The command would also
prompt the user for email address and IMAP connection details. It would
find all emails with the specially formatted subject/body in the email
account and show a list of such emails. The user would select a back up
email from the list and Shuffle would recover its state from the email
attachment.
(I may be interested in volunteering for this or other feature requests.)
