Forest Block filter data

rewrite code from FireHistory package to include searching for and filtering by forest block (from corporate data V:\GIS1-Corporate\data\GDB\DBCA_Operations\DBCA_Operations.gdb, feature class CPT_FOREST_BLOCKS)

Discussion points

Things to clarify/think about

  • Need to clarify how this would be run. For example run from a project within the ./Historical directory. Has implications for folder setup etc
  • Need to clarify contents of template folder structure, specifically if inputs in ./models and ./heath are used
  • Need to determine geographical scope. I feel this could/should be statewide. This has implications on CRS. If proceed with 2020 projected Albers, will need to recreate unique id's based on CRS and new methodology (otherwise checks on duplicates won't work)

Function to handle reprojects

Give the user the ability to reproject any output/product to projection of their wish.

Will work throughout in Albers 2020, EPSG:7844

Block/folder chooser

Helper function to choose block working directory.

Useful in all post-sandbox functions

Decompress sandbox data

Have moved directory creation all to first stage code on export of clean data.

Refactor existing code

BURNID generator

Burn ID to be a (hopefully) unique combo of district-YYYY-X(4d)Y(4d)

X and Y coords are first 4 digits of the centroid X and Y coords of the burn polygon. Due to historical work the CRS of the polygons must be GDA94 MGA50 to avoid redoing prior work. Therefore the universal Albers projection will be transformed to GDA MGA50 for centroid calculation only. All actual spatial data will remain in Albers.

Export clean data

Function to handle:

  • export of clean shape file
  • export of clean dates csv
  • export of burns by shape
