idea based on a character or potential villian

or how about a character who uses there shadow to fight and uses a pocket knife. i could imagine this character being crazy and sadistic but there is a cold truth to when they talk to a character. they could use the shadow called limbo(name is up to you really) to continue attacks along with the knife. this character could be a glass cannon type

Just a lucky Muai Thai guy. Kinda happy go lucky, Ken combined with Balrog type personality. There for the fight, to make some cash and support his country. Knee upper cuts, Wall jumps, chun-li style spammy kicks, Rushing strikes and dive-kicks. Wife suggested a character cheering him on on the side of of the ring and giving him a confidence boost style install super, that gives him armor+damage boost at the cost of being unable to block. Maybe Vega walldives idk.

you should add a character who has a wide variety of weapons that are incorperated into each button example(high being gun shot, standard is a sword, low is a scythe) and make it where they have a blood lusted move where all weapoms are upgraded and doo extra damage, but suffer a drawback after this time period is over.

idea bout a good niche character

how about a kicking character and there niche is holding two buttons, that allow you to change your normal and continue a cobo for bigger damage and there special would be called chain link(you can change that) were every version of there normal linked straight into the next move and allowed for massive damage.
