This is a ROS package which is modified from pointcloud_to_laserscan, that transfering PointCloud2 captured by Kinect2 to LaserScan. This work is inspired by https://github.com/ros-perception/pointcloud_to_laserscan

Dependence

To use this package, IAI Kinect2(https://github.com/code-iai/iai_kinect2) written by T. Wiedemeyer is needed.

Install

1.git clone this repository to the src folder of your catkin workspace; 2.run catkin_make install in the workspace; 3.source ~/catkin_ws/install/setup.bash

How do i use this?

Hello, i'm new to ROS and i hope i'm not making any problems or disturbances including putting this in the wrong place. But i tried performing some actions without any outputs happening am i doing something wrong?
roslaunch kinect2_bridge kinect2_bridge.launch publish_tf:=true
rosrun kinect2_to_laserscan kinect2_to_laserscan_node(says here [ INFO] [1498542029.075225564]: Initializing nodelet with 8 worker threads.)
rosrun rviz rviz ( i am a able to get the published topic from here called "/scan" however map is not updating)
Hardware details using laptop with nvidia 1080 and kinect for xbox one.
