Couple of problems with bined-netbeans-plugin

Unfortunately the discussion section is not acitve so I created this ticket instead. There are some problems for people of using your plugin. I will just add the links to the created issues and hope that you can see the problem somehow fast. If you need more info, I can try to add tickets for every problem and try to check them before doing this:

apache/netbeans#3797 - md opened as binary
apache/netbeans#4584 - A java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError exception has occurred
apache/netbeans#4657 - Variables window show no variables

Please add a button into the editor toolbar to switch to your pluginview.

As you might know, there is the source and history button in the editor toolbar right above the file and sometimes the preview button, dependend from the file. So it would be great to have only one button for your plugin too to switch from source to the hex view.

Exception on copy smth from the system

I have a strange bug. I open chrome, select the address bar and hit ctrl + c (sometimes more than one times, to ensure, that I copied the text. Unfortunately netbeans give me this exception:

very strange, only happens inside the addressbar.

unable to compile using jdk 14 and netbeans 12

Will be a plugin available?

Is this only a standalone application or will be a plugin available for the netbeans IDE? I know the other plugin but it's not maintained anymore I think. Would be nice, if we can have yours.

Editor still white while using darcula

Before I used version 0.2.0 everything was fine with the UI. I use darcula and it was dark too. Now I use 0.2.0 and the editor is not dark anymore:

Unable to install on netbeans 8.2

The Plugin Installer found problem timeout of loading BinEd - Binary/Hexadecimal Editor[org.exbin.bined.netbeans/0.2.1] while install the following plugins:

DropDown for other formats are not working anymore.

I use DeltaHex 0.1.6 and when I open a file as hex and change the dropDownList from HEX to BIN, nothing happens anymore. I know that this was working before. I opened a de_DE.json locale file.

Problem while scrolling

I often use your plugin but for I didn't use it for weeks so I tried it some days ago and today after the update and I have a problem while scrolling. The behaviour you can see it in my little screen capture.

I don't have a mouse, I have a trackpad, but I think and hope that this doesn't matter.

not working in Netbeans 14

not working in Netbeans 14. I uploaded NBM to my own netbeans repo and unable to search it out. So some problem happened. May I fork the project?

File handle is not closed after closing file

Steps to reproduce:

• Click right on a file and click Open as Hex
• Close the file
• Try to rename or move the file: it won't let you, because DeltaHex did not close its handle to the file

Does someone else have this problem too?

Files on enter/double click opens in hex view (.sh, .h, .c)

The problem is the same as for an other hexeditor plugin, but atm I don't know which one. The problem is, when you double click a file or hit enter on a file which fileending is .sh, .c, .h and I think .cpp too, then the hexview opens which was not expected. The problem is, that the "Open as Hex" action is the first action and not "open" anymore.

Binary switch

It would be very cool, if we can have here a binary switch inside the hex view like this:

Should be easy or not? So you can switch between hex and bin. A "open as bin" would be nice too.

Open as Hex is not possible for some filetypes like txt and log e.g.

When I open the favorites window and do a right click on a txt or log file (e.g.) the action Open as Hex is deactivated. I don't know for how many filetypes too, but these are the filetypes which I handle in my IDE.

Possible to merge Open as Hex and Open File together

Maybe this is not possible with the plugin but it is an enhancement. In my opinion, there is no need to have a second open file dialog. It would be good to have this merged in the normal open file dialog. If you really want to change to bin, oct, or hex, you can do it, inside the open file dialog. If not, then you don't need to.

If this is not possible, maybe after the move from Oracle to Apache, it could be good, to have this plugin merged into the core, so that you can change the open file dialog logic.
