I found in HISTORY.md that

* check accepted charset in content-type (accepts utf-8)

but it doesn't support utf8

The dash is required (UTF-8). There is no such charset as "UTF8", only "UTF-8". You will find the same behavior if you send pages to a browser with charset=utf8: they will not honor it since it's not a charset.

Sadly node.js uses 'utf8' (in crypto and such), so I can see how people might be confused. :/

Erroring for that may be a good idea?

Those Node.js core routines don't take "charsets" but rather they take "encodings" which are just arbitrary strings they can do whatever they want with since it's not a standard. A "charset" is actually a standard and there is a registry for them.
