not much to say, I run anydesk on my steamdeck as a flatpak and other anydesks have so far not been able to transfer text over clipboard in any direction

user interface text not readable due do coloring

The user interface is hard to use because the text color (very light grey) is too similar to the background color (white)

Anydesk not connecting on Fedora Kinoite 36

I installed Anydesk flatpak on a freshly installed Fedora Kinoite 36.
Unfortunately the app launches correctly and says that there is connection with Anydesk but in truth there isn't.
When I try to connect to another computer, Anydesk remains in "connecting" for a long time and in the end fails for the timeout.
I already tried to reinstall Fedora and the app itself but remains the same problem.
Here is the output of terminal:

$ flatpak run com.anydesk.Anydesk

High CPU usage

Anydesk spawns off many local-services, in case I lose connection momentarily, which take up ~40% of the CPU.

System details

  • OS: elemetaryOS Hera 5.1.2

5.5.6 no longuer available, 5.5.6-1 is the available one

I'm getting an error while installing this package. It is expecting to find the package at the following url: Error: While downloading https://download.anydesk.com/linux/anydesk-5.5.6-amd64.tar.gz: Server returned status 404: Not Found However after inpecting the url, the latest version is 6.0.0 as contributed in #43. or the version available for 5.5.6 is with the trailing -1 so the url that should be used for this version is now https://download.anydesk.com/linux/generic-linux/anydesk-5.5.6-amd64.tar.gz.

Either please update the merge request #43 or change the link please, because as it stands this package is now un installable

AnyDesk closes itself after a few seconds

No matter if I interact with the gui or not. It closes with a SIGKILL error message after a few seconds, both X11 or on Wayland.

New maintainer(s) needed

I am the only active (relatively speaking) committer to this repo. I don't use Anydesk myself and have no particular reason any more to keep it ticking along, particularly since there is a steady stream of reported issues. I have previously tried and failed to make contact with anyone at Anydesk about the existence of this wrapper.

I will open a draft PR to mark the app as EOL, which I will merge in about 4 weeks if no-one steps forward to triage issues & review PRs. I will also ask the Flathub team to remove me as a committer in 4 weeks.

update to anydesk 5.5.4

I noticed when I installed, it's a really old version of anydesk. I'm worried about the security implications of that, but it seems to work great when connecting to a client running the latest version.

Instant closes on opening "Settings"

Version 6.1.0
Flatpak 1.6.5
OS: Linux Mint 20.1

When the program opens, click on the hamburger menu and select "Settings", the program will instantly close. This happens "every time", so 100% reproduce-able.

Connection crashes after seconds on Mint 20.1

Issue description

Connection confirmation is shown. Once the connection is established it fails after 1-2 seconds.

Observation

I was able to reproduce the issue on two seperate systems with a fresh installed Mint 20.1. The issue is not reproduciable on Fedora.

Test environment

Mint 20.1: Flatpak 1.6.5
Fedora 33/34: Flatpak 1.10.2

Tested with:

      Commit: 6d1f451e1714a68b67e08328ac6d06a2e252ea0b07aa16535e893affb4058980

Anydesk flatpak 6.1.1 not working

Does not launch, sometimes process does not terminate and hangs in background and must be manually terminated.

6.2 from the AUR does launch and run fine.

flatpak list
Name Application ID Version Branch Installation
AnyDesk com.anydesk.Anydesk 6.1.1 stable system

When launching from terminal this is all that happens, then the process terminates (and sometimes I have to kill it).

$ flatpak run com.anydesk.Anydesk
No protocol specified
No protocol specified
$ malloc_consolidate(): invalid chunk size

Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as flatpak repair. Have also tried on several other distros/machines (Solus Plasma, Arch, TW, etc..) that I have available both on bare metal and in VM with the same results.

Update to 5.1.1

I tried to create a PR for the update, but unfortunately there's a bug with Github and I get a 404 🤔

There's a new update for Anydesk available, version 5.1.1, so if anybody else could update it, please?

Anydesk fails to close on quit

OS: Fedora 31 x86_64

When running the anydesk package, I find that when I close the application the process does not end, but apparently goes into an endless loop and jumps to 100% CPU usage forever until I SIGKILL it.
