Malformed \uxxxx encoding.

Hi, not sure it's a issue with my env, but I started getting this exception when running clojure -X:javac on clojure-lsp project:

it seems that doesn't happen on CI though, any thoughts?

Fail on JDK8

Hi, aweomse project!

I configured it on clojure-lsp, but it failed on CI only for java8: https://github.com/clojure-lsp/clojure-lsp/runs/2590947200?check_suite_focus=true

Execution error (IllegalStateException) at com.sun.tools.javac.main.Main/error (Main.java:186).
directory not found: classes
