We have carried out some initial test on non-Nanopore computers and if you are able to set up Guppy so that it is using your GPU then this approach should work.

It is worth noting that PyGuppy is not currently public, so will need to be requested from ONT.

Thank you for the quick response Alex. I've written to ONT asking for Developer access. I already have Guppy working on our Ubuntu machine. I may be in touch after ONT grants me access (assuming they do) if I run into any problems trying to set your approach up.

Does that mean that pyguppy is different from pyguppyclient ? or is that comment out-dated? Do we need to request developer access?

The comment is now outdated. Pyguppyclient is all that is required and is available from ont following our install instructions.

Hi Brent, The comment is outdated and you don’t need to request developer access. The master branch of `ru` works using pyguppyclient. Pyguppyclient is an updated version of pyguppy. It only supports guppy v3.4 or newer. Our original implementation used pyguppy which was compatible with guppy 3.2. Alex
