In case you mark several items within the explorer and holding the control key you deselect one or more of them, the deselected items keep the blue marking.

Window look doesn't change

Hello :)

I was just trying to install the theme, but no matter what I do, the window style remains the same as it was in the previous theme. The taskbar and start menu look like Windows XP, but window style doesn't change.

I have followed the instructions in the tutorial precisely, I believe.

Background color gets lost / Sleep Mode changes colors

Sometimes one of the grey colors in the dialogue background changes its tone, getting brighter.
I can't reproduce this error in a consistent manner, it just happens sporadically.
Applying the theme again is currently the only solution. To simplify this, use Winaero Theme Switcher

Taskbar text color does not change

Following the installation steps I managed to get most of them. Except for one thing: the taskbar text color still not fully black:

Some questions regarding this project

Hi I have some questions regarding this project:

1. On VirtualBox with Windows 7, if I used the Aero theme and if I switched to the classic theme, then it would use less RAM and when moving the windows around it would be smoother. Is this the same thing if I installed the classic theme for Windows 10?
2. Is this project still going on or is it abandoned?
3. Is it possible to disable animations such as closing etc?
4. Can I customise the theme to look like this:

Triangle icons do not appear in Explorer Navigation Pane

The style of the nodes for the folder tree in the navigation pane can't be changed. No matter if 'XP Simple' or 'Vista' is choosen, the pane always shows 'plus'-signs to expand the folders. 'Triangle'-signs are never displayed.

Node + icons do not appear in Explorer Navigation Pane

I'm using Theme For Win10 November 2019 Update 1909.

I really appreciate your theme replacing the stupid Windows 10 > node icons with the + ones, which work in most places, like the Registry Editor.

However, they don't appear in the Explorer Navigation pane:

The Navigation pane works, but the + node icons are invisible.

Any way to get them back? It's not a huge deal but it's really bugging me. 😄

I was on Windows 10 Pro x64 1909. I updated to 2004 and the theme still works. The + node icons on the Navigation Pane are still invisible however! 😛

I have no experience whatsoever with creating/editing Windows Themes.
I do have some experience with creating Firefox themes and - based on that - I can truly appreciate your work.

I have some questions and comments.
I'd be grateful if you could help me.

1. I assume I should use Theme For Win10 November 2019 Update 1909 for Windows 20H2. Is that correct?

2. An application menu is grayed-out on losing focus. Can you reproduce that?

It just happened to me after returning from Hibernation. I'll keep testing it.

4. I'd like to set Active Title Background to RGB(10, 36, 106) and Inactive Title Background to RGB(128, 128, 128).
Could you please refer me to the relevant entry in msstyleEditor?

5. There are some differences in the following elements between the Classic Theme on Win 7 and your theme on Win 10.

Here is hovering an item in Process Hacker.

Caption Buttons.
In some windows the Caption Buttons are higher than the title. I suppose the title height can be changed, but the native buttons are not too bad. :)

ComboBoxes arrows.
My system is RTL (Right To Left), Hebrew.
I have my own build of Notepad++ in which I use both LTR and RTL in ComboBoxes and it has a major glitch.

7. This is not directly related to your theme but it's very important to me. :)
I don't like ClearType.
I've been using the following REG code to change most of the fonts used to Tahoma.

Does this work on Windows 11?

Anyone try it? I might have to upgrade at least a few of my systems soon and I'm wondering if I can use this!

Thin borders not making taskbar smaller

I ran the .REG, it didn't work, so i reset the registry values to default and then tried again, then after that didn't work, i tried setting them manually, but they still didn't work.

Color of upper corner

The color of the corners isn't the right one, when the focus from the current window is removed.

Color of marked item without focus

At the moment the color of the last marked item in an explorer window is light gray. Could be slightly darker for better visibility.

First icon of task bar hides behind start button

In case the search icon and/or task view icon is hidden, the first icon of the task bar hides behind the start button.
Respectively, if the search icon or task view icon is shown, they are hidden partly behind the start button.
