Provide more URL-sniffing by default

You may have use for my Elgg URL sniffer, but I like the plugin hook approach here.

extending support to specific subtypes

i am wondering how to change this plugin to support specific object subtypes such as blogs and videos etc.
i would like to pass through an image and description that are specific to the currently viewed item.. so far i have not seen any icons being passed through to facebook successfully (e.g. for elgg file objects that have icons in elgg).

do i need to write a specific hook handler in start.php for each object subtype (as with the example for 'profile'?) or is the trigger_plugin_hook in start.php (line 23) intended to handle these cases and for some reason is dysfunctional for me presenlty?
