decalco's Issues

Decal lighting up when it shouldn't (material not properly set up)

Edit : After further investigation, it turns out that the decal's material was not properly configured ; specularity defaulting to 1 caused this issue.

In the example below, a decal is placed on a wall. A narrow
spotlight is emitting from near the camera, and at a certain distance and angle, the decal lights up even though the spotlight is not aimed towards it.

Here is a picture of the decal placed in the world (local space gizmo)

This might be happening because of a poor understanding of decalco or the engine, but I'm posting this in case it isn't (and haven't found another place do discuss this issue).
Hope I'm not bothering !
Thank you.

Border around all decals

I'm not sure what could be causing this, but all decals from this addon have a weird line border around the shape of the image used.

Applicable decals by ColissionLayer

Dear,

Is there a way to implement "collision layers" in your solution? So the Decal would work on certain object but not other

Scenario: an enemy being shot, so he loses bloods (Decal Splatter on the floor). Same enemy walks on the blood splatter, it would reflect on him!
Exp: (I tried my best to illustrate the problem in the picture below... I hope you can see the blood supposed in the floor is shown on the enemy body...)

So the obvious solution, is to have the z axis of the decal as small as possible. But, it's not applicable in my case because it's splatter over curved and messy meshes... The best is to have a sort of mechanism that will tell the Decal on which object/node it would reflect...

Thanks a lot for your answer, and thanks a lot for such great feature

Riad

More control over decal's shader and duplicating decal.

Thank you for creating this addon, it is pretty good. I can already add some cool blood decals into my game but there are couple of things that bother me.

The first issue that I found is that duplicating a decal doesn't seem to currently work since the duplicate decal is empty. It would make things easier, if I could just duplicate decals without any issues :D

The second issue is (if I understood correctly) that custom shaders aren't currently supported. It would be really cool if this addon would take advantage of visual shaders since that can open up doors for more complex looking decals.

Merry Christmas and happy New year !!
