The NixOS source tree has been merged into the Nixpkgs
repository, where it now lives in the nixos subdirectory.
Please file NixOS bugs in the Nixpkgs issue tracker using the
nixos label.
Is it possible to use hackage-db to query deprecated versions? For example GPipe-2.2.1.

The package description promises "access to the Hackage database". It is not immediately clear, whether this refers to the local cabal package database or the online repository at hackage.haskell.org. The source tells that you load the local cabal package database. Could you please clarify that in the package description?
Now that GHC.app is the preferred way to install Haskell on OS X, the package database has gone back to being under ~/.cabal/.
