I believe you just need to remove or disable that repo.

So, is the issue that "mirrorcache not correctly handling linked folder"?
If so, why has this just started happening? I've been using the mirrorcache au URLs for quite some time now and have only seen the error in the last week or so.
Any idea how to get mirrorcache to fix the issue? I'm hesitant to remove or disable the repo.

Yes, one problem is with MirrorCache and I plan to fix it within two weeks.

The other problem is that 'one click installer' did setup repo /repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/ on many machines where they are not needed. (at least it is my understanding).

That repo has different content in different places. But the main server download.opensuse.org redirects all requests to the main Tumbleweed repo /tumbleweed/repo/oss/ , which I think is already in your repo list. You can confirm by looking at output of zypper lr -u.

If that is the case and you see /tumbleweed/repo/oss/ in the output - that would mean you have two duplicate repos (one of them is link to the other on download.opensuse.org).

Ah OK. I think I'll leave the repo enabled for now (the error is more of a annoyance than anything else).
Let me know when you push the changes to MirrorCache and I'll let you know if it fixes the issue for me.

So it should be fixed with 2b6ff32fa3 , could you confirm if the error has gone?

Now when it is fixed - you can compare that content of /repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/ is identical to /tumbleweed/repo/oss/ and identical to the same on download.opensuse.org.

This should be enough reasoning to disable / delete that duplicate repo.

After looking at https://en.opensuse.org/Package_repositories I've just disabled /repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/ on my machine as per your suggestion since it isn't listed there either. Thanks for your help :-)

just for reference - it works for me know, so I will close the call. But feel free to reopen or report new issue if somebody sees similar problem:
