I think the sort of thing you are suggesting would fit in the #computer-science channel, and along with #data-science that area is covered quite well already imo.

As wookie mentions, I don't see a huge appeal in this topic in conversation in the server so I'm not sure it warrants it's own channel.

We've recently rebranded #computer-science to more focus on data structures and algorithms, so we are hoping the quality of conversation there increases and more advanced topics such as this do get the question time necessary.

If we see a huge appeal in future we can think about reopening this issue, but for now it feels like there isn't enough to warrant a new channel.
