Some additional Microsoft resources

Noticed your list on the weekend. You mention Bing Maps a couple of times, but here are a few other Bing Maps and Microsoft mapping resources that might be useful:

Under Database

Under Paas

  • You have Microsoft Bing API listed, but it points to the Bing Maps portal where you would sign up for an account. A higherlevel website with more details on Bing Maps can befound here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/maps This may be a better link to point users to initially.

Under C Sharp these may be useful:

Under JavaScript

Hope you find these useful.

Cheers,
Ricky

Orfeo Toolbox (OTB) is released under Apache v2.0 license

Thank you very much for this very rich collection of links.

The Orfeo Toolbox (OTB) project is referenced in the C++ libraries section and it is reported that this set of libraries are released under CeCILL v2.0 license. This information was once accurate, but OTB libraries are now released under the Apache v2.0 license (cf. LICENSE file in the source code repository). The change was made more than 4 years ago now.

Could you update this information? It is important because the CeCILL license was a strong copyleft license almost unknown outside France, whereas the Apache license is a permissive license with a worldwide reputation.

Thank you in advance.

Add geoapify

Hi Eduardo,

I have created a CLI and Python client for the Geoapify web services: https://github.com/huels-originals/geoapify.

See the tutorials in the docs to get an idea: https://geoapify.readthedocs.io/en/latest/example-toy/

If you have not heard about Geoapify yet: it offers for batch geocoding and more, integrates well with GeoJSON, is powered by the OpenStreetMap ecosystem, and has a very generous free tier plus a super-friendly license.

I would appreciate it if you add this package to your Python list. Many thanks!

Broken links

Hello, I found some broken hyperlinks:

LiDAR packages

CloudCompare is a 3D point cloud processing software (such as those obtained with a laser scanner).

The Point Cloud Library - PCL is a standalone, large scale, open project for 2D/3D image and point cloud processing.

Open3D is an open-source library that supports rapid development of software that deals with 3D data.

How to classify Google's open-location-code?

Google has a Digital Adress Standart which named Plus Codes. And there are bunch of implementation on standart EPSG:4326 coordinates to Plus Codes tranformation on Google's Plus Codes repo.

But I couldn't be quite sure it has to be in this repo (i think it should) and where to put it?

What are your thoughts? @sacridini and all.

Where to add openrouteservice itself?

I've added openrouteservice's development side within #108. but couldn't be sure where should i added itself.

And as a second question it has QGIS Plugin. We've some QGIS plugins on list. What is our stance on this matter, choosing a QGIS plugin to included? @sacridini

Wish all you all a great week! ๐Ÿฅณ
