Hello, welcome to my page!

Blender

Within Blender, I create art as well as develop tools, some of which I sell online. You can find my art at spencermagnusson.artstation.com, but my free tools live here, including:

  • Light Painter - "turns light design in Blender on its head: instead of manipulating the lights, you indicate how you want them to appear on your models by painting their influence. Very cool and innovative!" - Blender Nation
  • Cy-culls - convenience add-on that organizes Cycles's culling options all in one place, including operators to enable and disable all objects for culling easily.
  • BLint - automate standardization and file conventions on the Blender projects.

Support animation playback

  • use a frame change handler
  • perhaps only run on an interval so it only runs after x frames (to improve performance)
  • When button is pressed, playback starts
  • When playback stops/cancelled, button is released

Filter by object type

Allow users to select what types of objects can be filtered/hidden/revealed. Can replicate nView's ObjType

Prioritize budgeted objects

As a user,
I'd like to prioritize objects by budget cost (highest budget first or lowest first)
instead of just using the order for budgeting as Blender gives it.

Removing the slider for Max distance and the update delay properties

I think it would be a more professioal add on if it had those little buttons to the right and left of the Max distance.. Cause I'm a blender power user I move fast and I I like things to be secure and precise so I could just move my mouse around the viewport and get things done if I could just reach up there and and know I could set the setting quickly and precisely every time that would be an awesome bonus... Because now cause you're add on I'm I'm working on editing big cities in blender and doing animations for a sitcom I'm creating in blender in those cities and if I could just you know rock out in material tab and edit the materials of the city real quick like you're add on would allow me to do instead of blender freezing every 5 seconds that would be awesome... And just know I'm working on a tutorial seriescalled creating a sitcom in blender right now that's gonna highlight all my awesome speedy workflow tips and uh you're add on is one that I'm going to really promote the crap out of because it's genius... Just so you know I'm an efficiency expert I'm always looking for ways to save button clicks in blender... Because the more content you can produce the bigger you could get on YouTube

Better, less arbitrary minimum bounding box size

Current state: bounding box calculator has a default minimum size of 0.1 - not configurable or dynamic based on object type.

Acceptance criteria:

  • For meshes and empties: single FloatProperty configurable by user to set the minimum default size
  • For lights - perhaps dynamically determine light's size of influence? I believe there's a property for this in Eevee, likely not for Cycles... must research further
