also just realised, the node rebooted as part of the upgrade to install the extensionl

an upgrade with extension needs a full initramfs rebuild, so it has to reboot to go back to old working Talos

Yes, this is by design, it's only supposed to work with talos 1.5 and higher

can you put it in the README. its only supports 1.5.0 then?
as current community manifest supports 1.4.6 no problems

This was added recently with fixes to talos to make it work without needing patches. The release notes specifies when new extensions are added. README from main is always of extensions under pre-release/development. Please refer to tagged README otherwise.

but in reality the extension FAILED, so why did the node reboot? shouldnt it of errored out saying it cant upgrade and not rebooted?
