Submenus a-la Pages

All corners are now used for several menus. Perhaps it's useful to combine operations into a submenu structure or inspector-type panes a-la Pages.

Add flathead (T-shaped) arrow terminator

T-shaped terminators are very common in biochemical flow charts. This seems like it would be low-hanging fruit. Example (which I am currently trying to rewrite in svg with inkpad): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Signal_transduction_pathways.svg

Add support for rich text in text objects and text paths.

Text objects/paths can currently only use a single font/size.

Add snap to object edges

It seems that objects are not snapping to each others’ edges. This would help me vertically space text objects using the natural line height of fonts. Sorry, I’m not a coder. But a heavy user of Inkpad. Please delete this Issue if it’s already listed and I’ve missed it.

Canvas font panel should display fonts in a hierarchy.

Currently all the fonts are in one big list. They should be sorted by family and allow drilling down for individual typefaces.

Need a Spanish translation of the in-app Help now that the UI is localized for Spanish

NSString properties are declared strong instead of copy

NSString properties should almost always be copy instead of strong, due to the way objective C handles strings.

Numeric positioning

Would be useful to be able to enter numeric values for positioning/sizing or other properties. Could perhaps also be combined with hovering values during dragging of elements...

Flip Hor/Ver menu item change

I find it somewhat confusing that Flip hor/ver is in the Arrange menu, as opposed to the Edit menu where there is also a Transform Again entry. Arrange imo is about the relation between elements, not about individual elements?

Should there perhaps be something like tap&hold context menus that allow edits? Particularly transform edits?

Add more localizations.

Being able to organize drawings into project folders would also be great.

Add support for document sharing

Inkpad is excellent!

Please consider adding support for "Open in..." In order to export SVG/PDF to other apps. Email and Dropbox are not enough, because they depend on a working internet connection, and SVGs can get pretty heavy.

Radial Gradient Control Handles

Please consider reversing the initial start and end positions of a radial gradient when it is applied to an object. I realize this may seem trivial, but as an Inkpad user, I find I am usually reversing the position of the control handles so that the start of the gradient is located at the center of an object. Graphic attached to further illustrate my proposed request.

Add support for saving/applying styles.

A style would be a unified fill/stroke/shadow object. Ideally this would be integrated into the Swatches panel.

Bluetooth pen options

I love this app. It's the one of the best vector drawing apps out there. I use the pen tool and I love the option of a type on a path tool. I wish you could make this app full screen when working. What I believe would make it even better is to add support for the wacom intuos creative stylus, and/or pogo connect.

Hi All,

Would it be possible to add the mirror functionality that other vector programs have?
So if you change something on one side, it changes it on the other?

Add folders in Gallery

More you have pleasure working with Inkpad, more files are listed in gallery, adding folders to group them help a lot having all more organized.

A round trip through SVG causes the contents of hidden layers to import with 0.0 opacity.

Add magnifier lens (loupe)

As Anchor Points are positioned under your finger you can't set them precisely (especially when you have to trace a background image), a magnifier lens (a circle that enlarge the touch area) help you draw more precisely.

Serious Error: editing gridspacing in dialog

while setting the gridspacing (in the simulator), clicking in the textbox after the first time results in a whole bunch of the following messages:

...: invalid context 0x0. This is a serious error. This application, or a library it uses, is using an invalid context and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system stability and reliability. This notice is a courtesy: please fix this problem. It will become a fatal error in an upcoming update.

Copy and Paste that #colorHex

Need to have a simple but important ability to copy color hex (e.g #DDDDDD ) and paste in some other objects colorpicker.

Could be simply achieved by viewing a hex in color selection popup in a text box when it could be copied from or can be pasted in there.

Layer element listing

Add the ability to see the elements of a layer in a list, with the possibility of rearranging/regrouping in this list.

helpURL produces a nil path because index.html doesn't exist.
Seems to have been renamed for localization to index_en.html

"ALT" hotbutton

Instead of having to select the +selection tool for selecting multiple elements, it might be useful to hold an "ALT" hotbutton that enables temporary special functions. This button could be placed left or right depending on the user's handedness.

Register with safari as an app you can open svg in

This would make it much easier to grab an svg off Wikipedia and edit it (usually to re-upload it)

Would expect the same functionality as when opening a PDF: Safari offers the option of opening in other apps, like Papers2, Dropbox, etc.

Inkscape have this nice feature and it works really good. Could it be implemented within InkPad? It will simplify UI a lot also - we could remove 'fill path with color/gradient' and leave only thickness and colour as separate characteristics of the path. Currently it is quite difficult to work with filling.

Edit text live on the canvas in text objects and text paths.

Currently a popover appears when editing text. Live canvas editing would be preferable.

I use inkpad as a professional designer on the road.
I would love to see the next future functions.

Textbox drawing issue

When moving a textbox I frequently get leftover lines. See attached image. Is this a known or reproducible issue?

Full screen mode

To show someone your work, it would be nice to briefly clear out the toolbars. Maybe via a three-finger or four-finger double-tap?

Auto switch back to selection arrow

After adding a rectangle or circle, the tool mode could switch back to the selection arrow, since that is most likely the intended behavior. Maybe shapes should be "added" via a shapes button, instead of dragged by boundingbox?

Add "Offset Stroke..."

Center point on shapes for resizing

Great app, but I sometimes find it frustrating to resize a rectangle. I must move each side's corner point by itself. I'd love to see a point on the center of rectangles, or other shapes for that matter, to be able to resize the shapes or rectangles uniformly without moving each vertex separately.

Add import from photos and from clipboard

Currently it is possible to start from a picture taken from the camera. There does not seem to be a way to start from selecting a photo, or from the clipboard. Adding these abilities would be appreciated.
