tasks's Issues

Reorder tags and filters in navigation drawer

When clicking in "my tasks" on top, it shows my filters. But i don't have an option to change this order. If you have lots os filters it became a problem!

Thanks!

I would also suggets to add like in the issue before ( #33 )

I has "two" thins. The first one is the filters, and in the corner are the time related filters

Just saying!

If able to change the filter order is i can create the time related firlters and set wherever i want!

Great app

No alert on dialog "add a list" on unexpected input

If on the dialog "add a list" the input is not a valide and the user confirmed, the app shut ask the user for a new list, or get a request. This is important if you have a lot of lists. I see on Astrid there will be create a new list without request.

Μerge PM and AM string to just one

Merge the (1,2,3...12) PM and (1,2,3...12) AM to just two "PM" and "AM" and add the 1 to 12 number in the code. Seems a bit cleaner that way.
I can do it next week if you want. :)

Delete Icon for task in the top bar

In the edit task dialog the delete icon (trash can) is on the end of the list. For quick work is better in the top bar, like the attachment icon.

Slow scrolling and opening/closing sidebar

Running Cyanogenmod 10.2 on Galaxy S4. Scrolling through tasks, or opening/closing the sidebar (sidemenu or whatever it's called) is slow and stuttery. All other apps which provide scrolling or sidebar functionality are smooth (such as GMail app, Cyanogenmod settings, etc.).

Ability to show Calendars in Task

Hello Ales.

Thanks for replying back on google play.. I was not able to located your mail, hence posting the enhancement request on github. I loved your Taks app. How ever I am looking for the app to show calendars also as list items similar to task lists in drawer and be able see a combined view of tasks and calendar. It is currently done by app called gtasks but not in drawer layout.

No icon and title 'You commented' for notes

I don't like the icon and title for notes. It must be set in the preferences. I changed this in my source:

  1. /values/keys.xml
    => insert p_show_caption_comments

  2. /com/todoroo/astrid/adapter/UpdateAdapter.java Line 425
=> getUpdateCommentLine return only converted messaged if p_show_caption_comments is false.

  3. new layout /layout/update_adapter_row_no_caption.xml
=> is copy of update_adapter_row.xml but without picture for person

  4. /com/todoroo/astrid/notes/EditNoteActivity.java
=> Line 437 getUpdateNotes set convertView to layout update_adapter_row_no_caption if p_show_caption_comments is false.
=> Line 453 bindView set pictureView only if p_show_caption_comments is false.

I can send details from my source, or help direct, if you want submit this changes.

Add default tags setting

Hi
I've just been testing and unless I am mistaken - I think there is the need for 'New Task Default' parameters in the settings to specify the Task's classification/unclassified and the Google List the new task drops into when created. Currently I'm finding that the task is dropping into the top Google List that was created and synchronised over into Tasks and of course is often an issue if you use the more than 1 Google List anywhere else such as in a Chrome extension on your desktop.
I hope that makes sense and Thanks
Mike

Recurring Tasks and Google Tasks Sync

This might be a Google Tasks issue (other Android apps that rely on Google Tasks seem to have the same trouble), but I've noticed that, if I install Tasks on two different devices (phone and tablet) and try to sync them, recurring task information and priority don't sync. If I set up a recurring task on one device, sync it to Google Tasks, then sync the other device, the task shows up as non-recurring. Changes to priority also don't sync. Not sure if this is a Google Sync limitation or something that Tasks can address....

Interface: Swipe menu.

Null context creating database helper

I see on debugging in the Logcat:

  1. java.lang.NullPointerException: Null context creating database helper on AbstractDatabase.java:154

  2. Could not find class 'android.animation.LayoutTransition' on com.todoroo.astrid.activity.TaskListActivity.setupLayoutTransitions
=> Because we set on AndroidManifest.xml minSdkVersion = 7 but for LayoutTransition we need API 11
=> But the App must right for Samsung Galaxy S (Android 2.3.6, API 10)

Skip This Instance and Reject options for Tasks

Additional options of Skip This Instance (for recurring tasks) and Reject (for single instance tasks no longer to be done) would be very useful. Some tasks left undone simply become obsolete; for recurring tasks, this may mean skipping an instance, and for one-off tasks, marking as Rejected (rather than Completed or just deleting).

As an example of Skip This Instance: health-related daily recurring tasks that get missed, so you need to go on to the next instance.

A "Day Planner", like the any.do Moment

A feature that in the some time ( configurable ), will show the the day tasks or urgents.. something like it

It will show all tasks, and for each you can:
Mark as done
Mark as tomorow
Mark as someday

Also be able to specify a day for the task or something like it.

Here is what any.do does:

Thanks

Unsign DoDate To a task won't delete Calendar entry

When set a do date to a task and set it to add to the calendar, the date shows up in calendar.

Edit the date, also edits on calendar. Delete the task deletes the calendar entry.

But when setting to "no do date" on task, it will leave the last date on the calendar.

I guess it should delete the entry in the calendar.

Thanks.

tasks categories

You set up a task with a category. The category is set up but the task is not included.

Running services

By default Tasks runs two services: auto-backup and scrollable widgets. My phone has 384MB of RAM and I like to avoid having those services running. The first can be disabled via settings and is obvious but the second seems to always be there and isn't obvious. Of course most phones have a lot of RAM these days, but maybe it would be good to allow the service to stop.

Widget functionality

Would like to have the following functions on the widget:

Scrolling
Ability to show duration of activity (eg, 9:45-10:45pm)
Ability to mark tasks as complete from the widget
Ability to remove the title bar/plus sign
Ability to reorder tasks on the widget

I am also unable to figure out how to play back a recorded note...

Thanks!

List counts not updated

List counts are not updated when you modify/complete/delete a task.

The count for a list is only updated when you view that list

Dropbox Backup

Hi,

Now without syncing available, an automatic backup option should be available. I suggest uploading the backup xml to Dropbox (once a day?) as an easy and effective backup solution.

One other suggestion would be to gzip the xml files so that they take less space.

Thank you!

Allow resizing widget

Would it be possible to make the widget resizable? I'd prefer to have it a little larger, and this seems easier than having lots of different sizes cluttering up the widget list.

(Also, would it be possible to call it "Astrid Mini" rather than "- Astrid Mini -" so that it appears in the right place in the alphabetical widget list? It gets annoying when everybody does this, as you have no idea where to find anything any more — and the widget list is already a pain to navigate on stock Android!)

Edit task, reminder text "when"

In the edit task dialog is the word "when" on reminder in englisch. The word "when" must be translated for the local language.

Missed phone call feature fails to notify me correctly

Any phone call I miss will get picked up by Astrid (after the feature is enabled), but won't remind me or displaying anything until after I open the application (not just snooze reminders) AND hit the back button. I open the app maybe once a week so I don't know that I missed a call until then. If I open the app, and then hit "home" I won't see the pop-up.

If I open/unlock to the homescreen directly, it shows the "missed call" pop-up. If I open/unlock directly into an app (such "messages" for texts) and then hit home to go do other things, I never see that "missed call" pop-up. I think If I hit the back button from that "messages" app, I would see the missed call pop-up. But I often hit "home" rather than "back" to exit out of an app.

I have a HTC EVO 3D running 4.0.3

I would be convenient if it showed up as a reminder immediately on the pull-down notifications menu, so it stays there until I deal with it.

Reminders don't vibrate

On my device (HTC One S) vibro doesn't work in reminders. Option in reminder settings is switched on.

org.gradle.api.GradleScriptException on build

My Enviornment:
Windows 8 (64 Bit)
Android Studio 0.2.8

If i test my Installation with example MyHelloWorld, everything is fine. I download the GitHub-Master from Astrid and try to run gradlew.bat.

  1. First it download the gradle (Version 1.7)
  2. Than Exception on Load: "org.gradle.api.GradleScriptException: A problem occurred evaluating project ':actionbarsherlock'
  3. The same, if i try to import in Android Studio

What can i do, what is missing?

Capitalize input for task and list titles

If you add a list through the 'new list' button or you add a task through the quick add bar, the text boxes automatically capitalize the first letter

If you add a list through the task edit screen, or you add a task from the widget quick add button, the text boxes do not automatically capitalize the first letter.
