mutated-mutables's Issues

Submodule issue

Hi,

Line 15 of .gitmodules is currently:

url = [email protected]:pichenettes/avr-audio-bootloader.git

I think this might need to be changed to:

url = https://github.com/pichenettes/avr-audio-bootloader.git

so this submodule can be cloned without permission errors.

Best,
Dan

Some way to reset sequencer(s)?

I realise both that this project has been considered done-and-dusted for some time, and that there's very little system resources left for new features, but I wondered if some way could be found to reset the sequencer and or/shift-register pattern-generator to a notional "Step 1".

I know there aren't any physical input available to do this, but maybe an item could be added to the menu to reset the sequencer to the beginning, or maybe it could reset itself if no clock is received for a set period.

Just a thought. I'm really enjoying the firmware - it certainly adds some useful and inspiring features to what was already am amazing module!

port to VCV rack

hi tim, has anybody contacted you about porting this firmware to VCV Rack?

Sample player processor discussion

As mentioned in #2 I'm working on a sample player.

Current plan for controls are:

  • pick sample
  • tune (relatively wide range for sonic exploration)
  • decay (will trim samples that are tuned down, and samples turned up could loop until decay finishes)
  • distortion, or sample rate reduction.. some sort of effect.

For samples I was thinking it'd be a good opportunity to widen the sonic palette of the module, adding perhaps other drum sounds that are harder to realistically synthesize like claps and some other percussion samples.

It's really cool that someone recorded hihat samples just for this module but on first listen I'm not sure how much breadth they add to the DMC palette after being downsampled.

Right now I have it working at 24k sample rate, which will provide ~2-3 seconds sample time. Runtime decompression would be possible but I think it might exhaust my interest in this project before I got it working :)
