Requirements

Python version 3.9+ or higher

Either you can use CLI or you can use IDE (like PyCharm)

Installation

For Development Version

• Press the Fork button, to save a copy of this repository on your GitHub account
• Clone this repository by typing git clone https://github.com/<GITHUB-USERNAME>/Python-Assistant.git command in git bash
• Create a New branch using git branch new-branch and move into the new branch using git checkout new-branch
• Before pushing code to repository makes sure to pull the latest remote repository by git remote add upstream https://github.com/Umesh-01/Python-Assistant.git and git pull upstream main, and resolve any merge conflict if exists

For Non-Development Version

• Clone this repository by typing git clone https://github.com/Umesh-01/Python-Assistant.git command in git bash
  OR
  Download this repository by clicking on Download ZIP inside the Code button

It will convert pdf book into an audio book

Picture Request

This feature will provide the user with random, user-defined pictures from a Photo API when requested
user-defined--> topic based pictures i.e. provided with keywords like moon,snow,mountains, etc.

If notes not found

It will give an error if notes are not found. My idea is that it will inform the user instead of showing an error. It will make it more user friendly.

Bug: Execution of program stops

when a command is given to open a software which is not installed the program gives a file not found error, i want to implement a check to see weather the software is installed before opening it.

Adding "What is the price of ....." Feature

This feature will help users know the current price of any item just by asking the assistant.

Eg: What is the current price of PS5
Ouput: "The price of PS5 in India is Rs. 24999"

User can collect data present in the website and store in an Excel file

My making use of web scraping. We can make a feature in which user can collect required data from a website and convert it into a CSV file. This can be achieved using Beautiful Soup and Pandas Library.

Changing the structure

I have the following suggestions.

Change the if-else structure to an intent.json file

• add a print statement within the talk function. So that we need not implement print every time.
• Add natural language processing. the current version is super hard-codded.
• We can add object detection and navigation parts as well
• Also can implement an activation word that will need to call whenever we want one command to get executed.
  -will add a dozen of new and better features.

Windows 10 PyAudio Installation Errors

For windows users, they might find it hard to install from the requirements.txt file and thus might require pipwin to install PyAudio successful at least it was for my case.

I don't know how to create a pull request around this since we have frozen dependencies.

I had to;

pip install pipwin

Then

pipwin install pyaudio

Python version related issues

For Python 3.9, ecapture is giving an issue while installing. (installed Visual Studio Build Tools as well)
And then I switched to Python3.7(because ecapture works with python3.7), now pyaudio is giving an issue.

Kindly help here.
