No function @10.11.6

After installing mySIMBL.app and opening the "colorfulsidebar" - i can see that she is installed but nothing else happens.

I restarted the finder as well i rebooted the system. No other results.

Different icon for highlighted sidebar icons?

Looking at the class dump for finder

It appears there is a way to way to override drawSidebarIcon which has highlighted as a parameter. This is also what dropbox appears to do in their injection as their icon reacts appropriately when highlighted.

plugin breaks unarchiving files

macOS 10.12.6
colorfulSidebar_9 ver 1.5
When I try to extract some files using Unarchiver app instead of extracting files, application opens. Same with few other file formats.
When using built-in Archive Utility App it doesn't kill the app once it's finished as it should.
Both options are working when using colorfulSidebar_9 ver 1.3.2

"Remote Disc" uses wrong icon, changes in icons10.plist without effect

"Remote Disc" in sidebar (to access shared DVDs or CDs from another Mac in the network) uses a generic shared network volume icon instead of a CD icon.

Weirdly enough it's not using the CD icon referenced in icons.plist or icons10.plist (I am running Sierra here) and any changes to another icon also don't have any effect.

Is there any chance to get a colorful sidebar also in Sierra Mail app?

I am aware colorfulSidebar9 is supposed to just give the Finder colored icons in the sidebar – which it is great at! But would be so cool to also get back colored icons in the Mail app's sidebar. :)

persists after deinstallation?

I removed the plugin, and after that i removed the SIMBL entirely but the icons are still colorful in the menu bar. The sidebar has old icons though

colorfulSidebar crashes causing infinite login loop

When colorfulSidebar is enabled, it crashes and kicks the user out to the login screen. Upon logging back in, it crashes again and kicks them back out again.

MacForge version 0.12.4. colorfulSidebar version 1.7.0.

This doesn't happen with colorfulSidebar 1.6.0.

You have to reboot into Safe Mode and remove the plugin from /Library/Application Support and then you're able to login again

Dealing with "deny file-read-data /path/to/icns" when injecting into sandboxed app

I'm using a modified version of your simbl plugin (as described here), and I was wondering how you deal with restrictions when injecting into sandboxed apps (for the save/open panel). For example TextEdit only has the "com.apple.security.files.user-selected.read-write" entitlement so we cannot just read the image at some arbitrary path to create the appropriate NSImage.

VLC plural script does not work with macOS 10.12.6 (16G1114), when colorfulSidebar9 is installed.

On a MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) 1,6 GHz Intel Core i5, the combination:

Using brand new iMac running Mac OS Sierra.
Should colorfulSidebar work, as well as CosyTabs for Safari on this machine?
I had them working on my older iMac running OS X 10.8.5, using EasySIMBL.

I have downloaded mySIMBL.app, as well as the current plugins, and I am able to open mySIMBL.app and add the plugins to its window. However, nothing is happening. I have restarted the finder and restarted the machine, and still – nada. I used to have EasySIMBL on this machine, but have now trashed it. In fact, this whole machine was a migration from an earlier Mac. Not sure if there's something lingering somewhere that's conflicting that I need to trash?

One error message appears when I open mySIMBL.app: it says: "SIMBL Manager has determined that SIMBL is not installed or outdated on your system. This means that applications and plugins which require SIMBL to function will likely not work."

What exactly might I do next ? If I hit the "Install" button, I just get another error essentially saying, "sorry Charlie."

Not changing default icons

Is it possible that colorfulSiderbar_9 doesn't change other icons than the ones specified in icons10.plist? I just want to set an icon for a folder but I don't wanna change other icons.

iCloud Drive icon stays blank

As the title says.

Not Working with Mojave 10.14

I have the latest versions of mySIMBL and ColorfulSideBar 1.5.0 installed.
No changes to the side bar whatsoever in the dark or light modes.
cDock is working fine.

Any suggestions?

ColorfulSidebar 2.1.2 on mojave 10.14.6 cause error in Quicklook plugin for pdf files

When I disable the ColorfulSidebar plugin in macforge, and restarrt finder, the error does not show up anymore.

I've tried to drag plugin file under ~/Library/QuickLook and /Library/QuickLook to the macforge app blacklist, but that does not work. When the quick look extensions are used, the user application should be finder. But since ColorfulSidebar is a plugin for finder, I don't want to drag finder into the blacklist ⊙﹏⊙|||....

Want to have custom but not colorful icons

Hi,

I managed to change all the icons in the sidebar to the old black-white icons in the CoreTypes folder.

But unfortunately the icons in the Go menu are still colorful and I don't know the values for some of the icons in the sidebar like the harddrive.

e.g. The miMacBook… is still a colorful icon and the icons inside the go menu are all colorful as well even though I changed the icons inside the icon and icon10 files.

Make it work on M1 Macs?

I wonder if anyone knows how to make colorfulSidebarX work on M1 Macs?
