Viterbi decoder in verilog- need help

Respected Sir,
I am Raida. I have some confusion related to the verilog code Vit_e213. i am trying to expand the code for 292 bit input values in encoder. And i have some confusion in expanding the Truncation lenght. Can you please tell me what will be the truncation lenght. Because when i checked the master thesis there it says the t>=5m, but in e_213 verilog code T is set as 12. so i have little bit confusion in that. If you can help me will you please reply.
