Hello everybody 🐳 ,
as most of you now we want to turn NodeSchool Berlin into a regular event, where people can come and hack on NodeSchool workshops and help each other out.
It seems like @stryju has some news about this. Do you want to let us now about it? 😄
Best,
Finn
Hey everyone!
There is a new Slack in town for JavaScripters in Berlin. Learners and NodeSchoolers are very welcome. You should join the slack and drop by the #nodeschool channel.
Get an invite here: http://berlinjs-slack.herokuapp.com 🌟

Finn
There will be an Event for http://wwwtf.berlin at 21.09.15 (Mon)!
But we may want to have another one before that?
let's plan early! i think sometime during the first two weeks would be best
Hey guys,
If you have any meetings scheduled or planned for the holidays period and are comfortable with english
speaking mentor I would be more than happy to visit Berlin for a one or two days to meet with you and help others getting started with Node! Wrocław is like 4 hours by train or by car so not even a problem.
There will be an international day on May 23rd. Let's keep that in mind here as a date for a NodeSchool in May. 🌴
Location: Zenmate
I don't think we will be able to get stickers for the next event in time. However it would be nice to do this in the future.

Hey @nodeschool/berlin and @nodeschool/hamburg,
the http://nodeschool.io website is already available in 12 different languages. However there's no German version yet.
Does anyone wants to go ahead and create a German version? The instructions for it are here: https://github.com/nodeschool/nodeschool.github.io#translations
That would be awesome 💞
Best,
Finn
Hello!
If you are interested in the next NodeSchool event, you have several options.
Best,
Finn
There are some ideas about a NodeSchool tent at #CCC15. Since it's going to be near Berlin, I thought I am going to cross-link this here: nodeschool/discussions#353
Dates: 13th - 17th August 2015
If someone feels like helping out here, just let me know - or go ahead with it.
Hey @nodeschool/berlin and @nodeschool/hamburg,
currently people are working on translating the workshop programs. The learnyounode workshop is already available in japanese, portugese, russian and spanish.
There are two repos/modules that need German translations:
Translating the learnyounode workshop is certainly the bigger effort. So comment here if you're working on it, so we can maybe split up the work.
If you're not familiar with the GitHub workflow (git, forking..), then this is also a good opportunity to learn it (I am happy to help out).
Who wants to help with translating?
Best,
Finn ❤️
PS: If your mother tongue is not German, translating it into your language would be cool too :)

Hey :)
At the end of July there will be the NodeBots Day, with different events around the globe. We only did one NodeBots workshop in the past (LaserCat with @gorhgorh 🐱 ), but maybe this is something we could participate in. We could focus on building stuff with Tessel for example.
It would be great to have someone with knowledge in Electronics help out with it.
@mikehenrty @johannhof What do you think about doing this (e.g. at Mozilla)? Not sure yet about whether it would be too stressful this year.
Hey @nodeschool/berlin
We're planning on trying out doing NodeSchool biweekly as in every 2 weeks. Let's decide on a schedule here and see what else needs to be planned.
TBD
Suggested schedules:
Every second Thursday (offset to Open Mozilla Night) react with ❤️
Pro: People could come every Th to do JavaScript
Every second Wednesday (offset to Rust Hack and Learn) react with 😃
Pro: People could come every We to learn stuff
Con: Wednesdays is the OTS Web Frontend Co-Learning
Every second Friday react with 🎉
Pro: end of the week (?)
Con: Maybe not that popular for people?
Let me know if you have other day suggestions, or concerns with the ones above. Also feel free to vote with Github reactions
Hey everyone!
I hope you all had a great christmas. Let's think about when to do the NodeSchool in January. Last year we thought about doing it in the end of January, but we @diasdavid is going to be in Berlin in the first two weeks of January. So maybe we could do it a bit earlier? Let me know what works for you!

Let's do something for wwwtf.berlin this year 👏
Currently planning on having a NodeSchool on September 15 during jsfest.berlin.
Like the title say ;)
Hey everyone,
I would love to do a follow-up meetup quite soon. Maybe even start something recurring like they are doing in Oakland now.
Let's collect ideas here when and where to do this.
Best,
Finn
i'm online every day and gitter.im
is one of the tabs that always stays open, because it's my IRC replacement. (you can even use it with a regular irc client)
I'd would be very neat to hang with some node people from berlin and bounce back and forth the tech everyone is using, just to get in touch more with each other.
wouldn't it be great if all "noders" and "javascripters" from berlin, interested in stuff like nodeschool would have a cosy place to hang online? I see some people already used http://gitter.im/nodeschool/berlin
to chat, but it's been some months. Could we try again please?
Professionally, as a freelancer, i really feel quite lonely and have to engage in chatting with noders overseas, because i don't know how to connect with my fellow professional folks from berlin.
Let's plan our next event!
testing slack integration
Hello folks!
Let's find a date for August :)
I propose Wed 17th August (as I will be at PAV that day) but am flexible, except for the 23rd-31st.
Hey everyone!
Hi, I would like to start a nodeschool chapter for rabat capital of morocco. I am @aitnasser on twitter and work on university. I have been using Node.js for 12 months and would like to help others learn as well.
thank you in advance
Hey everyone,
Let's start thinking about the next meetup already :)
Best,
Finn
Hey,
so yeah let's make this a regular thing again ♻️
Let's look for a date in November. I think it would be nice to use the Mozilla space again.
Also I think it would be cool to make a choo-themed nodeschool next time. /cc @yoshuawuyts
erst mal vielen Dank für Deine Anstrengungen, einen Node-Event aufzuziehen. Das ist sicher viel Arbeit.
etc. etc.
Hey everyone :)
Let's start thinking about the next meetup. Any date suggestions?

Hey,
friends of mine are starting a design collective/agency (or something like that) and I told them we need a cool logo for Nodeschool Berlin, so they came up with two logo ideas:
They're free to use, obviously, but if we actually use one they'd like to show it off on their new website.
Feedback is welcome :)
Hey,
I want to apply for the Rails Girls Summer of Code Program, working on the Hoodie Project (which is written in JavaScript). My current pair is job hunting right now and she will probably find one pretty soon. She would rather take the job than the Summer of Code Project (if we would get accepted).
So she urged me to find a new partner.
I already have two amazing coaches (@finnp & @bastianalbers), a project plan and enthusiasm!
You need to be able to work full-time during 1. Juli - 31. September and some JavaScript knowledge.
If you are interested then contact me: [email protected]
The deadline is on 14. April (this Tuesday!!!)
Hey everyone,
I noticed recently that a lot of you are interested in more follow-up learning. Here's an idea how you could do more learning together, without the need of having a full event each time.
Peer Learning
and the Date/Location in the title. This is just an idea, I am open to feedback and we would need to see how well this works :)
Best,
Finn
Hey everyone,
there's another date we should keep in mind. It's http://wwwtf.berlin in September.
We should decide on a date for it and PR to: https://github.com/janl/wwwtf.berlin

"weiterforken...." Vielleicht wäre es besser ob ich Englisch shrieb. 😸
I'm a programmer & my design skills are schrecklich. I see that you forked this branch from another (now defunct?) gh-pages. May I fork your branch & use it for our nascent chapter in Western Massachusetts? Wir sind jeden nur Bauern out here und Amis to boot so I don't think there will be much overlap between our target demographic and yours (i.e. people who look at our site won't look at yours & vice versa, if that matters).
Vielen Dank & let me know if that would be alright! 🇩🇪 ❤️ 🇺🇸
Hey everyone,
@velchevski created a quick poster from the International Day banner for promoting the event. Hanging posters in cafes is a good way to reach people that wouldn't otherwise hear about NodeSchool.
And here is the source sketch file and the pdf, so you can customize them for your event, if you want:
