So let's get something straight first:

If you invoke Cut (or Copy) with nothing selected beforehand, what you get is a cut (copy) of the entire current line, including the line-ending. You aren't getting "just the link" or "just the word" you right-clicked upon.

If that's not what you want, you need to disable (uncheckmark) this setting:

However, that being said, it does seem like there is a problem when the paste is executed, as it should definitely do it between the quotation marks (I don't think quotation marks have anything to do with it, it could be any insertion point), NOT on the line above.

Leaving that part out, makes the rest of what you say come across much better.

Yes, it is a problem at the insertion mark because if there was an entire line of text to cut or copy, then paste anywhere into a paragraph, that entire line of text should get inserted correctly. As per my initial post, that would only work if the text or text line was highlighted first.
...and yes, I did say the insertion did not work into a sentence or paragraph, and I did use the example of between quotes.
