Please provide a topic of interest: controlled vocabularies. Please explain how these come into being. Also, how can folks share a term they'd like to see in a given controlled vocab. Highlight which terms now could have controlled vocab (that don't). And / or fields that do - but the controlled vocab not adhered to...

Please provide a topic of interest: 3. A content suggestion ... and one in which I would be willing to help. A presentation on the overwhelming / critical nature of CoordinatePrecisionInMeters as an enabling field. This is little understood by the user community, and indeed that field was not even SERVED by GBIF until last year! Bridging between the informatics side and the user side in a single presentation could be very informative. Just a thought.

Please provide a topic of interest: Topic: “Darwin Core Documentation: More (would be) Better” edited for presentation to a general (as compared to TDWG) audience. Purpose: to reveal to everyone (not just aggregators - who are essentially "insiders") - what the data looks like for key fields. This should be an index to webinar announcements and captured videos.
Create a presentation to kick off the Darwin Core Hour series (https://www.idigbio.org/content/darwin-core-hour-webinar-series). The presentation should cover:
What inspired this series?
What are we trying to accomplish with this series?
What are some examples of topics?
Where can I send topics for discussion?
What will happen with these submissions?

Please provide a topic of interest: these are the things I think people might like to know as well as what I'd like them to know: 1) identifiers 2) how to manage changing identifiers 3) fields useful for research/searchers: scientificName, kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species, specificEpithet, infraspecificEpithet, higherClassification, taxonRank, nomenclaturalCode 4) decimal lat/lon - you can add the other fields that make lat/lon really useful 5) vernacularName 6) continent, country, countryCode 7) bonus points for associatedSequences have to have: in occurrence file: occurrence ID, institutionCode (and usefully collectionCode), basisOfRecord in multimedia files: id, identifier, format, accessURI rights, rightHolder, accessRights - the basics of attribution Funders like it when the grant number is included in the metadata in IPT (ml.xml), it goes in the project block. That's all from me off the top of my head. Documented here: https://www.idigbio.org/wiki/index.php/Data_Ingestion_Guidance Extra reading about data tics, and avoiding them.

Please provide a topic of interest: grant numbers. I need a field to share that a particular specimen was handled / touched / imaged / etc as a result of a given grant. EML has a field - but I may have a mixed dataset, and I may have (going forward) more than one grant number for a given specimen. Funders (as stakeholders) want to be able to tell which specimen records resulted from their backing.

Create a Introduction to Darwin Core presentation for the Darwin Core Hour webinar series (https://www.idigbio.org/content/darwin-core-hour-webinar-series). The presentation should cover:
What is Darwin Core?
How does Darwin Core relate to other standards?
Who manages Darwin Core?
Where did Darwin Core come from?
What are Darwin Core terms?
What is Simple Darwin Core?
What do I put in Darwin Core fields?
What are Darwin Core extensions?
Why is my term missing?
Where do I put my field?
What are the principles behind Darwin Core?
How does Darwin Core evolve?
Where can I go for help?
And potentially a Darwin Core Sightseeing Tour if time permits.
