MON sounds out of phase on LSB and USB ?

Hello,

When I try to monitor the mic on Thetis HL2 Beta1 in USB or LSB, the audio sounds out of phase in my headphones and it sounds pretty bad. On AM, it sounds perfect.

I tried that on PowerSDR 3.4.9 and 3.5.0 and it works perfectly on USB or LSB so it seem to be a problem only to the Thetis version.

Am I the only one who has the same effect while monitoring microphone ?

Simply turn on the MON button, set to LSB or USB and monitor your mic with headphones, it will sound out of phase, then switch to AM and it sounds perfect, just like PowerSDR.

Running Thetis 2.9.0.8 HL2-Beta1 on Windows 10 computer.

[BUG] Switch from A-ATT to S-ATT and can switch back to A-ATT

I will also reset my database to exclude and corruption there:

Problem using an HR50 to track band changes with Beta 3- 40-10 meters works correctly and right data is sent.

160,80,60 and (yes, I know not supported 6M) sends wrong band data.

If I use the standard Thetis version Ritchies the correct band changes and data are sent.

I'll try and get a couple videos of each will need to do video cell phone so I can show HR50 received data.

Wanted to post while had a chance and saw this occurring- will reset database first and send update if that resolves- but you may wish to look at the code/data sent via beta 3. I do not recall this with Beta 2, but it is possible as I was fighting with other issues as well.

I had to reset the database because the HL2 suddenly did not output the usual power (only 1 W)
All is working fine now

i install new version as always.
no issue if i start the mw0ble v.2.10.3.3 but i have this notice if i start your version for HL2

Thetis not running on korean or japanese Windows 10/11

I would like to point out the following issue which also affects HL5 Beta.
Thetis versions greater 2.9.0.3 obviously do not run on Korean or Japanese Windows 10 / 11 versions.

To verfiy this behavior I installed a Korean Windows 10 in a virtual machine. I can now confirm that versions greater than 2.9.0.3 do not work. Thetis can be installed, but the error message mentioned appears when the program starts. This also applies to Thetis HL2 Beta 5 from MI0BOT. On the other hand, the version of G7KLJ https://github.com/w-u-2-o/Thetis-2.9.0/releases/tag/2.9.0.31a seems to work on Korean Win10.

[Power meter = 0 during TX]

Describe the bug
The power meter in upper right corner of Thetis shows "zero" power during TX. The measured power on artificial 50 Ohm load is 6W. The measured "AIN1" and "AIN2" signals from the Filter board don't fit the required level. When measured by scope the scope shows the small positive / negative peaks when TX starts / ends. I wonder about issue in the SWR bridge on the Filter board.

1. Select e.g. 40m band, AM or FM mode, on-board PA enabled, the right output level on the load is set;
2. Click the MQX to activate TX mode;
3. Measure the power signal at the 50 Ohm load (cca 50V peak-peak)
4. See error - the value on the power meter is = 0.

The value on the power meter has to show the proper value in wats (or dBm).

Drive control range insufficient for external linear

Hardware: HL2 driving XPA12B 100W linear amplifier

Issue: When matching the antenna to the linear, the o/p power must be kept down to around 20-30W, else at high SWR the amplifier shuts down. When TUN is pressed, the minimum setting of control Drive is not low enough - 100W is o/p at minimum Drive setting on some bands.

Possible fix: Extend drive control range downwards by not only controlling the HL2 output attenuator, but also the amplitude of the tune-up tone. For maximum fidelity, altering the HL2 attenuator should be at the maximum drive level end.

There is no problem with normal transmission, as there are plenty of gain controls prior to the drive control.

Workaround: Use an external tone from another application + VAC

Different setup screens in Network Settings

if changing from ANAN typ radios to Hermes Lite, the "Network Settings" screen changes to the new IP address layout.

I liked the new IP address layout from the very beginning, It is more convenient to enter IP addresses.

Wouldnt it be possible and nice as well to use the new IP address layout also for ANAN radios?

When I use the DIG modes, would there be a way to save different VAC settings ? So when I switch on digital modes, I could route the audio to virtual cables to digital softwares like FLDigi or WSJT.

I have to create a new transmit profiles when I switch to DIG modes where I have set virtual audio cables.

Maybe have an option to be able to save or not save VAC settings (check box) when you switch modes from analog to DIG.

[BUG] Mic level is not reflected

Describe the bug
When you move the Mic level button slider, you can see it reflect in the Setup Audio VAC1 TX Gain.

But if you change the gain within the setup audio vac1 tx gain, the Mic level slider does not move and does not change it's value.

1. Go to Setup, Audio, VAC1 and change Mic TX Gain
2. See the Mic Level Slider button won't move.
3. Then move the Mic Level Slider button, the MIC TX Gain will move accordingly.

Reid ... I see in Beta 2 that the Drive Slider works as it should -- Nice! However when I go to SetUp/PA Settings, the PA gain setting has no effect on the HL2 amplifier gain and obviously the power output. That setting is used to set the Max HL2 Power Out (when drive slider is set to 0db) to prevent overdriving my amplifier.

It is simple to reproduce, simply go to Setup/PA Settings tab and change the gain setting on the band that you have selected. The default is 38.8. With Beta 1 my setting for 80m was 49.3 to set the PA output to 4.0 watts. In Beta 2 that setting has no effect on the PA output (gain).

Expected behaviour
As in my description that PA gain setting allows me to precisely set the Max output of the HL2 (drive control at 0db) to my amplifiers required input just prior to activating the overdrive protection.

Have full output control of TUNE [FEATURE]

Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible to get full power range of the TUNE button ?

When I hit the TUNE button, the lowest power is about 1W.

1W is regardless of the PA settings when set at -7.5.

Any possible way to mod the HL2 Beta revisions so that it would give full range of tuning power ?

I am looking for 0.1 to 0.2 to tune a predrive amp so I can tune the final amp at around 10W. At 1W of predrive, my final amp receive around 30-40W (depending on the band) which make the final amp tune at really high power like 400W.

That would be a very nice feature to give full power control at least on the TUNE button !

since 2.10.3.5 beta 1 and 2 the automatic AGC reduces gain more agressive than in 2.10.3.4.

For example, two screenshots taken at same time / band:

After re-install I cant launch HL2 sitting on 192.168.1.x/24 while I am at 192.168.9.x/24 (Wireguard).

Used to work before but now static IP wont work - it seems to go back to discovery only.

Move HL2 to different broadcast domain.

Be able to select an IP adddress and skip discovery over UDP.

No. Would there be a way to implement an Auto-Tune button to activate auto tuners but without a final amp to be keyed ?

I am running the HL2 with a predrive amp and Acom tube amp as the final.

With the new I/O board, we could activate the auto tuner by just keying the pre-drive amp to the tune preset level and NOT the final tube amp.

But when you need to tune peak the final amp, the current TUN button would key both amplifiers at the tune preset level so the tube amp can be properly set.

Maybe add two FUNCTION buttons to the Option Panel. Those buttons could be programmed to trig routines in the I/O board or even be used to control other aspect of Thetis maybe by selectable objects in setup.

[BUG] Fatal Error

Uninstalled previous Ramdor v2.10.3.4 and then intalled Ramdor Thetis v2.10.3.5.

I then copied v2.10.3.5-HL2β2 on a different folder and as soon I try to open it, I get a Fatal Error message box.

Ramdor v2.10.3.5 does start correctly and seem to be working well.

To Reproduce
I simply try to start v2.10.3.5-HL2β2 and this Fatal Error occurs Index was outside the bounds of the array.

When I hit OK, v2.10.3.5-HL2β2 closes.

Expected behaviour
Just start.

I uninstalled EVERYTHING with RevoUninstaller, deleted v2.10.3.5-HL2β2 folder and anythying related to Thetis in the registry, restarted the computer and redo the install and copy of v2.10.3.5-HL2β2 and still the same issue.

v2.10.3.5-HL2β1 same Fatal Error occurs.

[BUG] Right click does not limit the power output

When right click on the Drive, it will draw a red line in the slider to indicate the limitation of output power.
It indeed draws the limitation, but it is not limiting the output power. The output power still goes to the full maximum although draws the red line in the middle of the slider.

Does not remember VAC Audio Gain Setting

I use HL2 on LSB and use the VAC1. When clicking Setup/ Audio/ VAC1 you see two settings under the Gain box. It allows you to set the audio gain settings for both transmit and receive. The transmit setting is not restored.

1. Start program as normal
2. My transmit audio is not present.
3. Goto Setup/Audio/VAC1
4. In gain setting, the TX is set to -40
5. Raise setting to 20 and the TX audio is perfect
6. Go to Transmit Tab and save in profile. Everything is fine
7. Shut program down and Restart
8. Go back to Setup/Audio/VAC1 and TX set back to -40

I would expect to see the TX gain setting at 20

[BUG] CW sidetone

I use as CW input the option SETUP > DSP > CW a COM with RTS/DTR as trigger input. I defined this as secondary and activate unter OPTIONS Sidetone (tick on). CW working correct, but I don't hear no sidetone. The MON ON/OFF has not any effect too. Is there any way to generate a CW sidetone, if I use this way for CW keying ?

[BUG?] HL2 PA comes up with delay - is it normal or not ?

If I press MOX or TUNE, Drive is 0/full output, I see at my external power meter that the PA of HL2 switched on with a litte delay, full power 5W come a little bit later as I press MOX.
If I try the same with my HL2 with SDR Console, there the PA comes up immediately without any delay.
Is Thetis doing something different here? Or is it correct like it is ?

HL2 beta5 MON still sound out of phase on LSB/USB.

Thanks for your hard work and recent releases !

I tried with HL2 beta5 and still the same issue with MON function while on USB or LSB... AM sounds good. You need stereo headphone to computer soundcard and turn on MON, use either USB or LSB and MON sounds very bad like out of phase.

When on AM, MON sounds beautiful (beside VAC latency).

Tested again and not found on powersdr 3.4.9 or 3.5.0. Seem to be an issue with HL2 and Thetis.

No. But would there be a way to pull skins directly from GitHub from the Skin Server list ?

That way, where there are changes, updates could be pushed to GitHub and updated automatically when user redownload the skin by overring previous files.

I did create a skin that I host on GitHub. I had my skin based on Thetis v2.10.0-HL2 by MI0BOT.

Now with the latest Thetis v2.10.3.4, button size have changed and placement have also changed on some graphical items.

I did upgrade my skin to match the latest version of Thetis but the person that host my file has to verify when I do some changes. If he does not follow my GitHub, the skin will never be updated from within Thetis skin server.

I don't know how this could be done otherwhise, I think GitHub is a nice platform to host files and push changes. That way we do not rely on other users servers to host our files.

It would also be mice to have a solution to reflect revisions and skins versions that are tied to various Thetis version as changes can be made at any time in graphics size and positions.

Hopefully that would be possible to host skins from GitHub servers.
