Application unexpectedly terminated!

Since 4/8/16 and the 2.2 update, I'm getting an error right after the splash
screen:
"Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that
other memory is corrupt."

This is on a Surface Pro 4. I don't believe there are issues with the memory
in the system.

A restart didn't change the issue/error.

Using the portable version did not change the issue/error.

Log attached.

Any ideas?

Intermittent "401 unauthorized" sync failures

I just updated to v2.1.3.0 and I'm having intermittent issues getting failures
when syncing. I see an error in the log that says "401 unauthorized" when this
happens, a dialog pops up asking me to check internet (which is connected OK)
and then another that asks if I want to retry sync. I click yes, and it syncs
just fine.

I just created a new google API token today as prompted when I updated from
the previous version.

Any idea what would cause the intermittent 401 errors?

Error sync / default code 403 - Daily Limit Exceeded

Dears,

I'm using OG calsync not for a long time, but very positive about it's
functioning. Since a day or two I'm confronted with the following problem;

I've checked at my cloudhost, which has confirmed that the application is able
to connect to internet. So apparently the problem lies elsewhere.

Can you help me out ?

Display of some options in Settings -> Sync Options cutoff with larger Windows text size

I normally use my Windows 7 system with the default text size setting set to
125% (in Control Panel -> Display -> Make it easier to read what's on
your screen (and/or "Set custom text size (DPI)"

Most of Outlook Google Calendar Sync works just fine in this mode, but I
noticed that some of the settings are getting cut off with this larger DPI
choice.

When I temporarily reset the DPI / default font size to 100%, the options all
display normally with nothing cutoff.

I've attached two screen shots showing the difference between "100%" and
"125%" setting.

This is not a "show stopper" but definitely limits users who use a larger
setting.

O->G: Missing Exceptions to Recurring Events

I am trying to sync a meeting that has an original data of 03/03/2016 to
recurre every 3 weeks. The 05/05/2016 instance was moved to be on 05/10/2016.

However, it is not showing up on the Google side. I have reproduced this issue
with v.2.2.0 and v.2.2.1.0. I have attempted a Forced Manual Sync (Shift-Sync
on v.2.2.1.0) as well as deleting the entire calendar on Google's side and
resync entirely (v.2.2.0 and v.2.2.1.0)

OGCS to follow proxy changes automatically

Here is a use case that I would like to see supported.
OGCS is configured to follow the IE settings. IE settings are configured via a
configuration script that intelligently tries to find out how/where the
machine is connected and select proxy servers accordingly. Outlook is
configured to connect to the Exchange server from anywhere, home, public
network or the company network.
A typical scenario when working from home is to connect locally and do some
mail. Sometime later I decide to switch over to a VPN link to the company
network. Outlook and IE do not even notice but OGCS stops syncing. After a
restart everything is fine again. So I am guessing that OGCS should check the
current IE settings prior to each sync and not just at startup.

Kind regards, Jan van Mastbergen

Minimize does not work

In version 2.2.0.0, attempting to minimize the application window instead
causes it to shrink down to a tiny window in the bottom-left hand corner of
the screen, but still visible. This happens even if "Minimise to tray instead
of taskbar" and/or "Close button [X] minimises window" is selected, and it
remains selectable with Alt-Tab.

Error occurred in the underlying security system

Hello Development team,

I'm receiving the error message in the subject line. I believe the error
causes the sync to fail completely.

I've been using this software for several years without issue. Quick google
search revealed possible issues with digital signatures. Important note: our
company recently began applying digital signature certificates to emails for
internal communication. The certificates are generated by a third-party CA.
Perhaps they are finding their way into the meeting notices as well.

Could it be related to digital signature certificates?
Can the problem be resolved with a code correction?

Attached are:

  • sync.log... text from Sync tab showing error message.
  • OGcalsync.log... log from Settings tab with logging level 'All'.

Jeff Woehler

Unable to get the list of Google calendars. The following error occurred:

Hi,

I use the application under windows xp at work (they only use outlook, i use
google calendar, on my phone).

I was perfectly fine. But the company (Desjardins) migrate to windows 7 (and
IE 11).

And now, the same application gives me that error message :

Unable to get the list of Google calendars. The following error occurred:
Web request to ' https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/token
' failed.
Le serveur distant a retourné une erreur : (407) Authentification proxy
requise.

I use the same google account, same outloook, still no proxy... I tried many
configuration (as the log file will show) but nothing works...

I really need to get those appointments push to my phone since that's the only
thing I carry with me all the time.

Thanks

G->O: 2.1.0.0 mulitple synch issues

The issues I have seem to fall into 3 categories. I can't tell if they're
related, but I suspect they are so I'll report in one document. There are many
other errors, but I think if you diagnose and fix these the others will
probably go away.

I only synch from Google to Outlook.

  1. Calendar event durations are sometimes incorrect. I have a meeting which recurs every Monday titled “Weekly status meeting”. OGCS correctly created a recurring event with a date range that matched the original. However, it created a meeting that was an hour longer than the original in Google. It was 1 hr and 50 min. instead of the original 50 min. Other recurring events were created with the correct duration. The only thing that seemed to distinguish the failing synchronization was that it was created in a different time zone.
  2. Recurring calendar entries in Google are recreated in Outlook each time the sync is run. Thus if you have a calendar entry titled “Keeping in touch “ in Google and you synch 10 times, you will have 10 instances of the recurring event “Keeping in touch” in your Outlook Calendar.
  3. “ The end date you entered occurs before the start date.”
This error message occurs frequently. The start and end dates in Google are
correct. The end date does not occur before the start date. Why would the
error message be based on the assumption that I was entering anything?
    For example,
9/11/2015 10:30 AM (R) => "WEI Ops - Our Customer’s New Grid "
WARNING: Appointment creation failed.
The end date you entered occurs before the start date.
Operation aborted after 1 failed attempts!

Recurring meeting sync fails

It looks like I have a recurring calendar entry on my Google calendar that
causes the sync to error out. Below is the relevant debug log details. Sync is
configured to just push Google calendar events and description one way to
Outlook (no attendees). Full log file can be found here on google drive ->
https://goo.gl/UejLS4

Is there a way to prevent the UI/Sync from stopping and asking if it should
continue? Ie each time it hits this error, I must respond to the prompt; is
the a silent-fail or continue on error option I've missed?

Feature Request: Pause for 1 Hour via taskbar

I'm requesting a feature, right click the icon in the notification area, and
add a check box that allows you to pause for 1 hour (or 4 hours, or maybe
both).

I work at an office with a multiple HTTP proxy servers and internet
connections.
Depending on which Internet connection is used, my auth request to google may
or may-not get blocked. Some office's proxies are more strict.
Most of the time the Sync works for me, but occasionally (like today) they are
performing maintenance, and are routing my traffic out another office. This
one is blocking all my google Auth's.

Every 5 minutes, the Sync pops up two boxes, asking me to test my internet
connection, and retry. If I cancel, they popup again 5 minutes later. (My sync
is set for 1 hour interval, but this is a resync on error condition). Highly
annoying, as I'm usually typing and the boxes take focus away from what I'm
typing.

Alternatly, instead of a pause for X hours check, maybe make the resync on
error condition configurable on the setting panel, and I can just set it at 1
hour if I'm having a this particular problem. (Much better than my current
solution of exiting the program)

Feature Request: Silently ignore network unavailable

Is it possible to have OGCSync just silently ignore issues with internet
connectivity? It seems more appropriate to just abort the current sync and
automatically try again later. Often times my network connection will be
temporarily disrupted at work overnight for various reasons (system maint,
network blips, etc.), but OGCS stops syncing and shows a popup asking if I
want to retry. It's especially annoying if this happens say Friday just after
I leave work, and I don't get any syncs until I'm back in the office Monday
morning to click the alert popup.

It would be much more helpful if there was a way for me to just set it to
silently ignore any network connection issues and just try to sync at the next
scheduled time. There's no need to alert me that the connection was
unavailable, I would expect 1) most users already know their internet is down
or 2) are not at their computer to see it and would appreciate it if the app
just automatically tried to sync again at next time.

It seems like informing the user of network issue is unnecessary and just
leads to the app pausing with a popup.

Multiple calendar entries in Outlook

Hi - I have had this issue for a while and it seems to have slipped off the
open issues list? I'll write it again here: the G->O sync that I have setup
keeps adding to the existing events in my calendar. I have 7 of the same event
in my Outlook calendar. I have tried various combinations of 'Merge with
existing entries' and 'Disable Deletions'. If I enable deletions, then events
that I created in Outlook are deleted (makes no sense?) and the events
imported from Google Calendar keep adding, creating numerous entries of the
same event. If I disable deletions then no entries that I created in Outlook
are deleted, however, the entries imported from Google Calendar keep adding
into the calendar (numerous duplicate/triplicate/etc entries). How can I fix
this behavior? I end up getting 5-8 notifications for the same calendar event
now because of these multiples.

Thanks!

Birthdays Syncing Over and Over Again

Running 2.1.4.0 and I have an issue with birthdays syncing over and over again
from Outlook to Google. This did not happen in the past, but has occurred with
the last few point releases. While the entry appears only once in my Outlook
calendar, it is recreated every time I sync with Google, so it’s not uncommon
for my Google calendar to have a hundred entries for one day for someone’s
birthday. This even occurs if I purge all the entries in my Google calendar
and do a “clean” sync from Outlook.

Unable to reclaim orphan calendar entries

I have been very pleased with this program, even donating as a way to say
thanks. However, over the last week or two I have been getting different error
messages. Currently it reads: "Unable to reclaim orphan calendar entries in
Google calendar. The following error occurred: Object reference not set to an
instance of an object."

I get this error if I try to do one-way or two-way syncing. I don't recall
doing anything differently to cause the problem. It just started acting up one
day. I am manually having to keep two calendars synchronized since this
program is not working.

I am using the latest version (2.1.0.0). I have attached the log file.

Thanks for your help Paul!

Patrick

Push Outlook Changes Immediately Stops Working After a Short While v1.2.6.0

First off, thank you for this wonderful tool! Unlike another similar tool I’ve
been using—I won’t mention any names right now—this one is fast and appears to
have less bugs!

Running Outlook 2013 32-bit, I have tried using the Push Outlook changes
immediately option and, while this worked well for a day or so, it stopped
working and no longer pushes changes—manual sync works fine. How can I help
resolve this?

Thanks!

I have only just installed the app V2.1.0.0 and have not yet made it work.

I have 4 Outlook Profiles and wish to use one only for the Calendar I make the
following steps:

Ensure Outlook is closed
Start the app - Splash screen seen Followed by Choose Profile Dialog
Select the profile required & click OK
Dialog appears - a program is trying to access.....Click Yes
Dialog appears - a program is trying to access.....Click Yes
Dialog appears - a program is trying to access.....Click Yes
App opens at Sync Screen
Select Settings Tab - see screen dump
Click Test - Dialog appears with Date-time format results
"The format 'g' returns 0Calendar items within the date range 04/01/2016 and
12/03/2016"

  • This is incorrect as there are Outlook Calendar items to be found
  • No changes can be made in this screen
    Select Sync tab
    Tick Verbose Output
    Click Start Sync button
Dialog - Sync Failed - see screendump

It seems the app cannot open the Outlook Calendar, Log also attached.

Help would be appreciated.

Looks as though only one attachment can be made sadly, so log file attached

The sync wants to delete entries from "original calendar"

First off, thanks a bunch for creating the app. Now for the issue.

After doing a one way sync from Outlook to Google (pre-existing calendar,
though) and then changing to a two way sync, the sync program wants to delete
a bunch of events from Outlook (I denied this as I had the setting to ask my
whether I wanted to delete items). I have touched neither calendar. The log is
was uploaded to your Google Drive as per instructions (it's called "OGcalsync

  • gudjkrist.log"). Any way for me to figure this out? Is it a bug or something
    I'm not doing right?

In the log the deletions start from:

Sync Fails at "Total inc. recurring items spanning sync date range..."

Version 2.1.0.0

Message box displays
The synchronisation failed. Do you want to try again?

And fails every time, however it was working when I first installed earlier
today.

It appears to be failing due to reoccurring events.

Outlook Appointment update fails

Love OG and has been working beautifully. Updated to latest Alpha 2.1.1.0 and
suddenly synchronisation halts with 'WARNING: Appointment update failed.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
0 entries updated.'
Reverted to previous version to no avail so returned to 2.1.1.0

Thank you for your support.

Invalid email address

Hello,
I've been getting a new error as of hte upgrade to 2.1.1.0:
ERROR: Recipient with email address "'XXX'" is invalid.
This must be manually resolved in order to sync attendees for this event.

I realize that the email IS invalid because it has single quotes around it.
But sometimes I can't fix that problem!
Thanks.

Reschedule of recurring event is not synced

Context:

  • one-way sync from outlook to google
  • first time use of the application
  • time frame : yesterday ---> today + 60 days
  • the outlook calendar contains a recurring event, starting 1 month ago (Dec 1st 2015), and repeating every Tuesday
  • one instance of this recurring event has been rescheduled from Tuesday to Wednesday

Problem : When synchronizing, the instance is copied to Tuesday in Google,
instead of Wednesday

Thanks for looking into this.
Best regards

Feature request: 'do not disturb' hours

I want reminders about meetings during my day, but all-day-events cause my
watch/phone to start beeping and buzzing around midnight (at seemingly random
times between 23:30 and 00:00) every day.

It would be great to be able to disable syncing of all day events - or in
fact, any events that start outside the 7am-11pm range, as a handy "do not
disturb" option.
